Landscape position on my lap using the apple case is the best for me. As for typing I use my thumb fore finger and middle on my right hand and my fore, middle, third and thumb on the left and it works out great. I can type pretty quickly as well and find it more comfortable than typing on a regular keyboard.

On the couch, laid back, while watching TV

Thanks to my wife for the picture, since I was too busy browsing MacRumors.com to self-pic :)

Oh yeah, I was also watching 24 ;)

I hold in landscape position, rest it in the 'crotch' between my thumb and my other four fingers and use the other hand to type..

I really don't see the issue many reviewers have presented regarding the weight of the iPad, or the keyboard. It is NOT that heavy! I find it comfortable to hold in any orientation, really. Also, typing is easier when help upright, with two thumbs. This way, I can type just as fast as I can on my QWERTY BlackBerry. In landscape mode, i am starting to type pretty fast with both hands, just as I would with a normal keyboard. Seems pretty natural to me. I don't quite understand all of the bitching! One reviewer even said that his arms started hurting after a while...ive been holding this thing for the past two hours, and I am fine!

That's because people need something to gripe about so they pick out something that can't physically be fixed later on ie the weight of the device. Or the reviewer could have just been a weakling.

It was uncomfortable to hold at first without a case because it seems to be very slippery but after a few days use now ( haven't been able to put the thing down for three days now) the slippery seems to be wearing off and it's much easier to hold. I usually hold it from the bottom with one hand either in landscape or portrait or if I'm in bed I rest it on my chest.

I use my iPad a lot in bed or on the couch, so I put it on a pillow in landscape mode, then prop it up with a blanket or another pillow behind it so it's at a nice angle.

This method is perfect for typing, reading, etc.

However, I do want to get a silicone skin for times when I do need to hold it because it is quite slippery.

Hey, that's comfort defined :)
I really like the orientation in landscape with the apple case.

I like landscape the best too, but I actually prefer it without the case. I like portrait mode with the case, for typing with my thumbs. The typing in landscape is by far the fastest way for me to type and the space between the keys is perfect, in my opinion.

This is a good question. I haven't yet found my groove with this thing. It's heavy and a bit awkward if I'm totally honest. My laptop seems easier in bed.

There is no right way to hold iPad... it conforms to YOU! :D

In all seriousness, standing at the Apple Store and using the iPad I felt it was a little hefty. Then I got home and sat on the couch with it and it was perfect. It really is meant to be propped against the body, much like a hardcover novel.

I agree. Mine is on my lap as I type this now :)

Isn't is much easier to just use a laptop? You don't need to prop a laptop up on a pillow or blanket to make it easily viewed. I just don't really get it.
