I can't think of a reason you'd need MORE than 8gigs. What, you don't own a computer? You're travelling sub-Saharan Africa for 9 months and don't have access to be able to swap out your content? You're a gyspsy or homeless?

I like plugging my Touch into my computer everyday, or at least every few days and changing content. It's literally one click. How lazy can a human be?

In the 8 gigs, I have 8 or 9 movies, 2 seasons of Family Guy, 20 podcasts/some video podcasts, and more music than I could listen to in a year.

Did you read my post? I said the 16gb or 32gb if you have a +10gb music library + think about the SDK and all new software that's coming up. (not saying that you will use 20gb for software and stuff) but still, it's better to get the 16 or 32 imo because you will >probably< think twice in a few months. And then it's cheaper to already put in the extra 100-200$ before instead of getting a whole new one.

Using my brand new touch 32gb which i got 20mins ago. Its easy to type this :) get the big models.

I think this comes down to what you're used to. I have like 60GB of music, but I've had a lot more mini/nanos than I have full sized ipods. Moving things to/from my ipod is just part of my workflow. So even when I had a 30GB ipod, I never really used more than half of it. The 16GB suits me fine.

i ordered a 16gig from amazon for 254 w/out the software update and i just figure i would spend 20 and get it and it will be cheaper that anything else. i choose the 16gig because of the SDK coming up soon. Have a little more music on hand and more space for videos. Its all about preferences. I would rather have more space than not enough. Just my thoughts good luck.

What about a long flight before and after a two week vacation where you don't need or want a computer? After the operating system overhead, a few more apps that will come out once SDK is released and a couple gigs of music, there will not be much room left for more than one or two movies. It is not the end of the world, but 16GB could come in handy. It depends on how much $100 is worth for you.

the $399 one (capacity varies as time goes on). the extra space is good for apps, media, and maybe disk mode (in the future)
