Closing in on a week of ownership now, I haven't yet received a travel/traffic/leave now alert in Proactive or the notification slider. Granted, I don't have meetings set up for every day, but I remember getting Google Now-esque alerts saying that there'd be traffic on my way home in the evening, or that my morning commute would be congested.

Is there a setting that I need to turn on?

    Thanks in advance.

I'm not getting traffic conditions in Notification Center or on the Watch yet either. I'm hoping they start soon.

I was getting them pretty reliably on my 6 with iOS 9.0. It was the first time ever that the notification widget consistently showed my commute time (used to be really hit or miss. one day it would work, the next it wouldn't). And when I got in my car to leave work, i got a notification on the lock screen with an ETA to get home. It was great.

But since I got my 6s+, that all stopped? I've been having a ton of other flaky weirdness too, and every time I figure out a workaround for one bug some other issue pops up. I was having problems with the home screen rotation, got that solved but now quick actions stopped working for a bunch of apps (stock or third-party - twitter, mail, photos, voice memos, maps, and a bunch more. oh, and phone/messages used to let me jump straight to frequent contacts. now they only have "create new contact" and "new message", respectively)

I think I'll try a hail mary pass with the 9.1 beta and see if it fixes anything. If not, guess it's time to wipe and restore as a new phone :(

I'm in the same boat as you. When I updated on my 6 it was all working. Since restoring on my 6s. The location stuff hasn't kicked in yet (used to work perfectly for me). I'm guessing it will just take some time. Give it at least a week before you wipe it. I'm sure it will kick in. I was having trouble with app recs on the lock screen but those started fully working today (after about 5 days). Frequent location recs haven't started for me yet, I'm guessing it will just take more time.

Report back on your continued experience.

I've been wondering the same thing - consistently got drive time notifications with my 6. Since I got the 6S, haven't gotten any. I've searched for settings but haven't found anything out of the ordinary. Was hoping 9.0.2 would fix it, but no luck. Anyone else have any thoughts?

The traffic alerts if I'm not mistaken are tied in to frequent locations being turned on in location services > system services. It needs to log your locations for a couple of weeks to anticipate where you are going to go in order to give you the alert.

Example: If you go to work and home every week day around the same time eventually it will show you how long it will take you to get home.

For me this feature isn't currently working so I'm going to clear my frequent locations and start over and see what happens.

I'm going to wait until next week. I don't want to clear mine and have to start all over again. Apparently frequent locations does not copy over from a restored encrypted backup.

I think that might be the case. My location history is very short (I guess I'm boring, lol) and clearly indicative of my 6S+ only being a week old.

No, that doesn't matter. If you do nothing but go to work and come home every weekday for at least 2 weeks you should start seeing the traffic indicator.

Oh no, I didn't mean that because I don't do a lot of travel during the week, that Siri might get the hang of me, I just meant that my list of locations was short because of it.

Two weeks huh? Alrighty, I'll check back in by then.

I gave up, never having them show up. I ended up buying ETA on the App Store, and can choose from Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze and other installed apps for my, uh, ETA.

Two bits. That app is very cool, being able to choose ETAs for several different locations - I list my clients, office, home, and, of course, my mom's house - I can see the ETA to each location in the app or the Notification Center. Second bit is that I can list each destination with a different mapping source - one client I can walk to, another I can take the bus to, or I can list my mom's as driving. I've also changed the source of the mapping app - set one with Apple Maps, then change it to Waze. Nice, that.

As for waiting. I stopped holding my breath months ago. I respectfully offer that you come up for a breath of fresh air - Apple's getting a bit stale. FWIW, I'm also a dev, and I've been beta testing iOS 9 since June - it ain't gonna work anytime soon! Cheers!

Has anyone started getting these yet? My 6S+ was giving me some for home a few days ago, but has since stopped in total?

There are 2 traffic spots. One is the through the calendar the time to leave based on your appointment and the traffic new to iOS9, and the on in the Notification Center that uses your frequent locations that has been there I believe since iO8 came out.

I noticed my widget/notification center one wasn't working really since iOS8. But I also think it relies on things you do daily. It worked when I would go to my office daily just fine. Now that I dont but infrequently/randomly, it doesn't show traffic in the pull down widgets like it used to at all. I dont think it has the ability to know you go every Tues or Thurs somewhere or once a week. I think it's more built for every day/regularly things like going to work/gym etc

Mine is not working again (the frequent locations/automatic one).
I'm hoping another week will do it.

I had a 6+ and had updated to 9.x. Siri Suggestions and travel time were all working fine. When I got my 6S+ I restored my 6+ backup to it. Had a ton of trouble. Ended up doing it 3 times before it fully restored. Never got a single Suggestion or travel time on the 6S+. Pretty sure it was related to restoring a backup from a previous model.

After some reading I did a "Reset All Settings" which had it's own problems, I am once again getting suggestions and travel times (1 day later).

Take caution with Reset All Settings, some people are having problems with it:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/threads/do-not-reset-all-settings-ios-9-0-2.1924429/

Additionally this royally screwed up my Apple watch. Phone could see the watch, but Watch could not see the phone, had to unpair, wipe, and restore the watch after the Reset All.

I've never had this much trouble with new hardware. I though 9.x was supposed to tighten things up.

I see travel times now. Shows up like a map notification. Just noticed them a few days ago.

I'm getting them only for meetings that I travel to, using the "Current Location" tag in the Travel Time field set - it worked flawlessly for the 4 meetings I traveled to today.

I've not ever seen a travel time to the "Frequent Locations" relying on a combination of the ETA app but more on the very useful INRIX Traffic app (I really wish Apple would use them in NA instead of TomTom - ugh) and bookmarked traffic cams. I've been routed into standstill traffic by TomTom 37 too many times to rely on Apple. Besides, INRIX provides traffic data for all of the rural routes that I travel so I've gotten in the habit of using that app when I'm out and about - it helped me make a great decision just this afternoon to avoid my normal route back to the office.

The other quick, hands-off way I like to use is just to ask Siri to "how long will it take to get to 5th and Taylor in downtown Portland?" or ""how long will it take to get home?" and I get that map and a timeframe in seconds - no swiping for the Notification Center necessary. I gave up on Apple's Frequent Locations long ago!

When did you get your phone? Restore from backup or from new?
