So today when I tried to use my new headphones with 9.2, every time I manually change songs, the Bluetooth connection to the headphones dies.

I then have to either reboot my phone or turn the headphones back off and on. If I let it change tracks on its own, it won't disconnect.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Idk if it's a general Bluetooth issue or something that only affects Beats.

I'm on a 5S with studio wireless headphones that I purchased yesterday.

I only updated to 9.2 late last night, so this morning is the first time I've been able to use the headphones with 9.2

They worked perfectly with 9.1

Considering no one had replied, I think this may have been an isolated event.

Also I have experimented and it may be a bug with the music app itself.

If I play iTunes Radio and skip songs it won't disconnect. If I play songs on my phone, it disconnects when I press the skip button.

When this happens, the song starts to play but then stutters and then stops playing and the headphones disconnect.

I just tested this with my wireless Studio headphones and iPhone 6s Plus, and it works fine. I have iOS 9.2 installed. Sorry you're having problems.

I had the same issue with my Studio 2.0 Wireless.

Go to http://your.beatsbydre.com/#/download?locale=en-US and update the firmware on your headphones. Ever since I updated it doesn't disconnect anymore when active.

Ok thanks for the replies.

I also debunked my iTunes Radio theory because it even disconnected when I skipped a song on there.

It's just weird that it only disconnects when I manually skip to a new song. If I leave it alone, it'll just happily keep playing.

If your Studio wireless headphones have the latest firmware, I suggest:

1. settings->bluetooth and forget the device
2. restart/reboot your iPhone
3. reconnect to wireless bluetooth

I'll have to check on the firmware thing. I don't currently own a Mac anymore as I pretty much quit using it. I can do everything on my phone which is always with me.

So it'll be kinda a burden to update the firmware. =/

My work pc is a no go, as its locked down, and my odd schedule makes it difficult to use a friends pc.

I may just either have to suffer, or return the headphones.

I was hoping it was an iOS bug and I could just wait till a fix comes.

My PowerBeats 2 are fine, no disconnections there...but there was a point yesterday where my Watch disconnected. Had to toggle BT On and Off.

I just tested this with a car Bluetooth adapter and played some songs. Then I skipped tracks like crazy and it never dropped Bluetooth, so this isn't an iOS bug I guess.

Hard to believe this made it past Beats quality testing even though I know the headphones were designed before Apple bought the company.

Well it happened to me today - iPhone 6 studio wireless since 9.2 update. I will report this to Apple because I have had no issues with connecting to MyFordTouch in my car with the Siri Eyes Free update.

After I remove the headphones from the bluetooth profile, and turn off/on the headphones, it connects fine. But as soon as you try to skip tracks, it disconnects.

UPDATE: Beats released new firmware on Oct. 15 and once updated I have no more disconnects. Apple support help me ID the problem. Funny it didn't show up till iOS 9.2

You don't need a Mac to update.

Was going to start a thread on this until I came across yours. I've been experiencing the same exact issue with 9.2b3 and 4...as well as the now "official" 9.2 release. iPhone 6 with Beats Studio Wireless - any time you manually skip a track, the headphones disconnect. Insanely frustrating!!! Will try the firmware update suggestion above.

It was worse for me on 9.2 Beta because sometimes I'd get a pop sound in the headphones and it would disconnect forcing me to power down the headphones and powering them back up to reconnect. Ever since I updated the firmware its been great.

Just finished the firmware update. (Thanks for the tip guys!) I've noticed three things:
This issue with skipping tracks & disconnecting is solved.
When skipping tracks, the audio now fades in - same when reversing. This is a nice, subtle touch.
Lastly, it seems like the massive amount of distortion on an iOS device with the volume at the max has been greatly reduced. In the past, with the latest wireless beats studio, I noticed that no matter what device or app, when playing back audio at max volume, or the second/third to last volume levels - the bass was incredibly distorted. Especially bad at max, or the level right below max. I thought this was ridiculous and ironic considering Apple is now in control of the brand, and Dre is literally sitting right there at the table! His own recent album sounds HORRIBLY distorted if you go past the 12-13-14 volume levels in iOS. Were you guys also seeing this, and did this firmware update make it much more tolerable for you?

There is one thing that kind of bugs me. After a while the headphones go into sleep mode if you are not using them to play music. The light on the headphones still pulse indicating the headphones are still on but I dont know how to wake it up and reconnect it. I end up turning off the headphones and back on. I called Beats and the person on the phone had no idea.

I like that...nice and subtle effect. Didn't know they were even pushing out firmware updates like this.

Hmmm...I'll see if I can replicate this. I've always found it silly that the headphones will literally never shut off, even after being disconnected to a device...unless you hit the power button. Haven't noticed a sleep mode, but will try it out.

I had Phillips wireless headphones before and they would stay connected ALL the time even if I thought I turned them off. I mean I would literally sit in my car and instead of my phone connecting to the audio system it would connected to my headphones that were in my bag in the back.

Now I have the opposite problem. It's a idle time > standby mode that I can't get out of without powering off and then on. The light indicators even pulse like a Macbook does when asleep.

It's possible it is in the user manual but my eye didn't catch it. There is also a noise cancelling mode with no music you can trigger just to keep things quiet around you and that involves pushing a button combination that I havent figured out either.

We're talking about Studio 2.0 Wireless right?

Yup, the wireless 2.0. I also have not been able to figure out how to enter the "noise canceling mode" that they referenced somewhere... I thought that just pressing on the B for a few seconds would enter into this mode, but more often than not it seems to unpair the headphones, or shut them off. Will check on this...

So I just went and manually disconnected the headphones under Bluetooth settings on the phone, and after a few minutes the blinking light on the left cup shut off, and the light on the power button turned into the MacBook type of sleep fade you referenced. Just like you said, there appears to be no way to reconnect at this point without a power cycle.

One thing I did notice is that active noise cancellation is still on even though it looks like the headphones are 'sleeping'...and if you tap or even hold down the left B, you can pause the noise cancellation. So I'm not sure if this is the intended way to get into this mode that you referenced earlier, but it is one way. Kind of annoying though that even after an hour they will not shut off - and you have to power cycle to re-connect.
