Who ever said it was anything else?

As for your plan, good thing you're not running Apple.

Maybe if I was, iPad sales wouldn't be tanking. I would never have moved the annual refresh from April to November (and said so at the time) and would not have confused customers with a myriad of old and new products. I would also have introduced a range of new colours to attract the former iPod generation.

Indeed yes 100% correct, and, in part is what I've been saying.
Both in Software being pushed to the max demanding better hardware, whilst of course, taking "THE" very best advantage of the current best hardware.

It's this "good enough for most users", almost cancer that's invaded our devices we need to treat and eliminate.

That is a factor of software developers though. Its easier to make an app that will work with older devices (less intensive graphics), its cheaper to make an app that will work with older devices (less time in development due to less complex programming), and to top it all off its more profitable to make an app work with older devices because you aren't limiting your sales to the fraction who own the latest hardware. If developers were selling their software for $39.99 like in the old days of Leisure Suit Larry (or whatever price point they sold it at) then maybe they would invest the money to make it for the most recent hardware. But as long as the race to the bottom is on with freemium apps and 99 cent apps the developers won't have much motivation to spend more on pushing the boundaries and limiting their sales at the same time. It makes sense for developers to push the envelope when hardware is upgraded every few years like on Playstation and Xbox, especially since those have a higher selling price, but when there are yearly upgrades, low selling prices, and a terrible interface (for games touch just sucks) we will keep seeing freemium puzzle games that work on all devices

Are you sure, at least for the phones, they're not far off from 6500K.

And if it had 8 it would be every better hey? Why not by an Android phone if that's your logic?

Hey man, thanks for the reply. Appreciate you taking the time to read my rant.

I'm just saying, the Pro has 1 less CPU core and 32gb less storage over the Air 2 and it costs $170 extra in Australia. Come on, aren't you thinking that perhaps Apple has priced this bad boy in another stratosphere?

So? You forgot to mention that Pro has better display, faster RAM, better single core performance, pencil ready display, smart connector, true tone display... When you say A, try not to forget saying B...

I think the thing is to consider the benchmarks as opposed to whether there is one less cpu core or not. Apple's processors don't 'need' all those cores for equivalent (mostly better) performance than competing tablets and a Pro beats them all right now by a good gap. Also a Pro has up to twice the storage available of an Air 2, up to 256 gb starting at 32gb. I wasn't sure what your 32gb less comment was referring.
