You mention only the downsides, no one is denying them. But for many people, the upsides, such as the better fit on the pocket and the easier handling of the phone, make it worth it.Smallest screen (poor media consumption experience), hardest to type on, and shortest battery life. Itˋs one day. iPhone 12 mini seems to become a replacement product for older phones and will sell well all year with less peaks. It's a pity iPhone 12 mini is selling so poorly...
Only Apple knows what the sales of the different models of iphones are. Your definition of "poor" sales might not be Apples.I hate to keep saying “I told you so,” but I called the poor iPhone 12 mini sales for many months before launch. I got roasted for it, but it was obvious. There’s a very small niche who want a tiny phone...everybody else is used to larger displays. Budget iPhone users got used to large, 6.1” phones. With the 11 and XR still available, and cheaper, they weren’t going back to a 5.4” phone. If anything, those upgrading from the XR would spend a little more and get the 12. Those upgrading from the 6s/7/8 would spend less than the 12 mini and get the SE 2020, XR or 11. Again: obvious.
You are pushing some conspiracy theories. Published data shows that mini was not popular as a XMAS gift. Unless you can come up with an explanation why mini could be unpopular as a XMAS gift yet still popular otherwise, you are just talking nonsense. Is it popular among Muslims and atheists or something?Only Apple knows what the sales of the different models of iphones are. Your definition of "poor" sales might not be Apples.
When I initially saw the device I thought it would outsell the SE, until they announced the price. $100 less than the flagship just isn’t enough of a discount incentive for the trade-offs IMO. They should have priced it $250 lower.Looking for a massive quarter from Apple.
Not at only $100 cheaper than the flagship 12 model. Needed a higher discount rate. Not iPhone SE levels, but more than $100. Not enough incentive.MacRumors told me that the Mini would outsell every iPhone.
Can you show me actual sales vs Apple targets? I’ll wait. You are pushing some conspiracy theories. Published data shows that mini was not popular as a XMAS gift. I have a 7+. The Mini is about the size of a 7 but the screen is almost a 7+. This is what I would buy to replace my 7+.
Why? I'm a runner and finding shorts that can hold a large phone is challenging. Also, additional weight bouncing around can be annoying.
Be careful with this assumption. I assumed the same but the mini is significantly slimmer in width that the 7+ meaning the text is much smaller. The text is actually smaller than on the non plus model.

These studies are no more than somewhat educated guesses with a lot of wrong most of the time.Same, but 23% less activations could leave a mark.
I wouldn’t call it based on one study that is likely flawed, incomplete, or just wrong. Look at the iPhone SE in this chart as the highest % of increase at 34%.
I think I am the only one here that uses my iPhone (7) to make phone calls. I have no data plan and the only app I ever use is the calculator. I'm glad Apple is doing so well, but I miss the days when they were a computer company.
That's not what people here are talking about. Nobody really cares about Apple targets. People are discussing the disconnect between a vocal minority demanding a small phone and reality in which most people do not want a small phone. Can you show me actual sales vs Apple targets? I’ll wait.

I would think many care about knowing Apples targets because that is coveted information. Maybe you don’t, but I sure do. I dont care what macrumors posters think about the sales. I want to know how apple thinks the sales are going. That's not what people here are talking about. Nobody really cares about Apple targets.
