Thats awesome! I just wish they would have said when, like on monday? Or same day apple will release 4.0?

It just affects my planing on setting up a new contract, guess I willhave to wait.

The unlock will come after Apple releases 4.0.

How can anyone outside of Apple know when OS 4.0 will be released. The release date is all speculation until it occurs.

Given that, how can the DevTeam predict when they will release their tools.

Some patience is in order !
 
Glad they have it all ready to go (assuming Apple doesn't screw it up for them in GM). The 4.0 unlock is what I'll need to sell my 3GS 😉 I had to upgrade it to test some 4.0-specific apps. I would've sold it this week, but I'll get a good bit more for it if it's unlocked, so I'll just have to wait.
 
They could, in theory, release it tomorrow once the GM is seeded to developers. I doubt Apple would go back and patch it before final release, but it's possible they may. I just want to sell my phone. 😛

hope this means the iPhone 4 jailbreak will be out that fast too. i'm sure his tweet is just referring to existing phones.
 
Release Date

iOS4 will be released on 21 June. I am sure that the jailbreak/unlock will follow a day or two after they verify that it still works with the public release and fix and bugs or issues that may come up.

The iPhone 4 will be released a few days later so am sure that they will have it up and ready for the next generation release.

How do you transfer the apps you bought through cydia to the new iphone 4 when jailbreaking it. I know with rock your phone there is a sign in but I don't remember one with cydia.
 
I personally would recommend that you just write down your Cydia apps and do a complete fresh install with the new iOS4 and new iPhone. You may bring over issues if you do a restore from backups.

Just my opinion🙂

Yup, and when I can unlock ICE2-05.11.12 I'm dumping AT&T and going to T-Mobile.😀
 
I also have a 3G I'd like to sell in order to get the new iphone. Couple of questions:

1. Should I install ios4 before I JB?
2. Will I also be able to unlock it?
3. Do I need to JB it in order to unlock it or can I just unlock it?
4. Is Ebay the best place to sell this or is Craigslist better?

I would seriously recommend against jailbreaking the iPhone 3G if you're doing so to enable wallpapers and multi-tasking.

I just done it and have gone back to 3.1.3 ... the iPhone 3G knows it's limits!
