So I was the guy who waited on launch day to get the iPhone 4...

I am posting this thread to see if there are others with such distaste for the product as I??

Dropped calls, wayyyyy to fragile for a mobile phone, no white model blah blah..

I have had the iPhone since the 2g. However I recently switched to a blackberry bold (soon to be torch) and a 64gig iPad...

Do you think that was a good idea??
 
Umm, sure :confused:

I mean you tried the iPhone4 didn't like it and went with something else.

Not sure what you were expecting to hear, but hope this combo works out for you.

Who cares. If you don't like the iPhone and rather have the Blackberry then that's your choice. You don't need our approval.
 
Blackberry sucks, iPad is cool but doesn't really serve a purpose. Yes I've owned both a Blackberry and an iPad. I couldn't wait to get rid of the Blackberry for my then iPhone 3GS and now iPhone 4. I would NEVER trade my iPhone for any Blackberry device. The iPad is pretty cool at first but after a month I couldn't find a good use for it so I sold it. It's to big to carry around so you're basically stuck using it at home and I'd much rather use my Macbook.
 
I would have done the same thing if I was sick if the ip4. My gf just traded her iPhone 3G for a bold and she loves it. Although she hardly used the internet, she said she got bored of it.
 
Not looking for validation, just seeing if anyone else has the same issues..

Also if blackberry and iPad seems like a good combo..

If you have nothing constructive to offer me click the back arrow and continue watching your porn..

Personally.. After using an iPhone since the 2g.. I can't imagine downgrading to any phone with a keyboard. But that's just me
 
i feel your pain

i own a macbook pro 15 inch 2008 , an ipod touch and thinking of getting an ipad..
i traded my iphone 3G for a Blackberry Bold and was happy about it.
it's hard for some members to understand how redundant it is to have an ipod touch and an ipod 3G or 3GS.. right?
so your move of an ipad and a blackberry makes perfect sense to me.. unless you simply want to flash your phone wherever you are.
now that i am eligible for an upgrade.. i will stick with the torch.. and as i've said consider an ipad or a new iod touch ( that looks like the iphone4)
 
Not having a white version yet is one of your gripes. If a white iphone existed you would be less likely to turn in your black one?

I had a Bold (now my fiance's phone) that I would pop my iphone's SIM in when I couldn't stand how awful of a phone it was. I was always unhappy with the iPhone as a phone, but the 3GS was particularly bad. There was no iPad when I got the BB 9000, so i thought of combining it with a Touch. But, I loved the iPhone too much to stick with the BB for long, despite how absolutely fabulous it's keyboard is and how abysmal my 3GS was as a phone, and went back to the iPhone.

Luckily, the iP4 has solved my reception woes and has redeemed the iPhone, for me, as a phone. It blows away the previous 3 in terms of reception, call quality, dropped calls, etc.

All that to say, if that combo is what makes you happy, OP, then go for it. As archaic as the BB OS can be, there are parts of it that are amazing, eg notifications.

But a caveat- I was extremely let down by email on the BB. Unless you have BES, it is pretty weak. BIS has only a fraction of the functionality as it's corporate counterpart. IMO, email, contacts and calendars are way better with iOS than on a BB with BIS. That was a dealbreaker for me as it is not only a device for pleasure, but also the lifeline to my customers and schedule.
 
Well I don't think I'll bother with the iP4 this year.

Apart from using my current iPhone as a phone and ipod in the car it hasn't seen much use since i got my iPad.

As long as the battery holds out, I'll just wait and see what 2011 brings by way of iPhone models.
 
Had my iPhone 4 since the 23rd of June and could not be happier with it. Also, the retina display has ruined me for the iPad. I gave it to my daughter so she'd stop asking to borrow my iPhone 4.

Well, a BB wouldn't have been my first choice. I probably would have gone with a Droid. I don't see BB being competitive in the smartphone market. The new phone coming is a let down, IMO. I don't like the screen and the form factor is not to my liking.

64g iPad, I'm jealous. I have a 16g and (in this case) size matters. :D

In the end if you are happy, great. If not wait six months, I'm sure Apple will have a new phone coming. ;)

I agree. My iphone is more and more just a phone now that I have an iPad :D

I was quite interested in getting an iPhone 4 but what's the point now? I'll just be happy with my factory unlocked 3GS for now. I am feeling the itch to upgrade my iPad to a 3G model.
