For me and lots of others, Safari.
For not me and lots of others, Chrome.

i.e. Could you give us more information about what exactly you want from a web browser before we decide which is better for you?

In my opinion, Safari 5 is the best browser for Mac by far, especially since it has extensions now. All that could be improved in Safari is probably gifs. However, I am forced to stay with Firefox for the time being as because it is the only browser that is compatible with Angel.

Chrome is slower by benchmarks. Safari is faster and much more stable. Stability and speed are important in a browser.

I said Chrome was faster for ME. Everyone uses the internet for different things and live in different areas with different IP's with varying numbers of computers in their home that have different specs. Benchmarks don't prove anything except that people still get hard for numbers.

I use both on my iMac. Safari 5 is much better now... before that... Chrome was better... now they are about the same... And firefox is getting worse by release... keep crashing on my...

LOL, I think the actual web browser is just so bloated compared to the other stuff, but I guess the rivals are more modern (IE hasn't been updated for a while).
