For me and lots of others, Safari.
For not me and lots of others, Chrome.

i.e. Could you give us more information about what exactly you want from a web browser before we decide which is better for you?

Chrome is so much faster for me than Safari. Then again others find Safari is faster with their setup. Try a bunch of browsers and see which you prefer.

Chrome is slower by benchmarks. Safari is faster and much more stable. Stability and speed are important in a browser.

In my opinion, Safari 5 is the best browser for Mac by far, especially since it has extensions now. All that could be improved in Safari is probably gifs. However, I am forced to stay with Firefox for the time being as because it is the only browser that is compatible with Angel.

I said Chrome was faster for ME. Everyone uses the internet for different things and live in different areas with different IP's with varying numbers of computers in their home that have different specs. Benchmarks don't prove anything except that people still get hard for numbers.

Benchmarks are nice for comparison but mean little in the real world. If everything was based on benchmarks we'd all be using Konqueror.

Both Safari 5 and Chrome crash and/or lag depending on what you're doing.

For me, Safari takes more than 20 seconds to open up and load the homepage. Chrome takes way less.

On OS X, I use Safari - I was turned off Chrome after only a few seconds using it because of the horrible scrolling.

On Windows, however, I use Chrome.

LOL, I think the actual web browser is just so bloated compared to the other stuff, but I guess the rivals are more modern (IE hasn't been updated for a while).
