I appreciate your efforts but I think you need to start a blog instead of writing a review that long on an Apple forum.

Agreed. Though I'm sure we'll die off pretty soon in this "ten minute video in lieu of a couple sentences" culture...

10 minute video? Hah! People's attention spans keep getting shorter and shorter, that even a 10 minute video is too long.

People want to read 140 characters or less and watch videos less than 2mn long. Ideally, a short animated gif would be preferable if possible.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm glad if it helped someone. I admit I was a little dejected after the first several comments after putting a deal of effort into it.

I like to post detailed comments about the user experience because I feel that review websites don't do justice to these critical aspects of smart phone use. They're all so worried about how this display brightness compares to that one, and miss the "forest for the trees". A perfect example is Anandtech's review of the Moto X. Probably my favorite android phone in spite of it's technical issues, but they're too concerned about color accuracy and gamma to see that the user experience is simply without peer among it's android brethren.

An analogy I would use is real estate agents selling real property. They all take the same photos of the same angles throughout a home. I could care less what the third, fourth, and fifth bedrooms look like. They're boxes with dimensions. I want photos of the odd spaces that make up a house - the closets, the pantry, the storage area, the shed.

Don't worry about the bad comments. Nice to read a quality post amid a bunch of shallow ones. Good luck.

For all those that are complaining of the post length...

There are looooong posts that are just sh:apple:t with useless content...

And then there are looooong posts that are extremely well written and insightful.

In this day and age of emoji's, texts and autocorrect (and the subsequent dumbing down of society), it's VERY refreshing to see the latter.

There are a lot of people who still enjoy reading an informative piece, instead of being spoon fed a video or a cartoon.

Understand. When I made that comment, there were no spaces between the paragraphs, the headings weren't bolded, etc.

Most importantly, what year is your S2000? :)

'04. Here are some photos I took:

That's my fault. I wrote it up in a word document and pasted it in on the forum. When I did, it looked like it had preserved the hard returns, but when it posted they didn't take. The bolded headings was an oversight, but probably wouldn't have been as bad if the returns had taken.

It makes ZERO sense to put every back button on the extreme upper left corner of the screen. This was uncomfortable even with the IP5, and now it’s nearly impossible without the klugey workaround.

Very well-written review. And your point about the "back" button positioning couldn't be more true. I've never though about it, but every time I'm anticipating that back button, the phone has to slip down into a very unstable position to tap it. Just moving it to the right would help (for righties, at least)

Who cares about the iphone I want to know more about your s2000? Is it ap1 or 2? Looking to grab one as a second car.

Don't be at all, I think it was an excellent writeup.

Maybe some peoples attention spans are too short, but the amount of effort put in this and many of your comments tat you made throughout your review have pushed me towards the 6. Thank you, once again, for such an amazing write up. You should have your own site:p

besides a larger screen the 6 is not really much better then the 5S. I've owned every iPhone and 6 6+.

Well done. This is the kind of post I look for on forums. Thoughtful, well organized, very readable.

I am enjoying my 6 but I had been enjoying my 4s just as much. Nice to have more screen, but funnily enough it doesn't feel like a big jump. Not that I need a big jump, these things are little miracles compared to my first Palm PDA.

Thank you for the comprehensive review and analysis.

(And, don't let people who want to complain about the length bother you - it's not like they are held captive - they can browse away at any point if their attention spans aren't long enough)
