Yes actually I did but by what you just wrote I would suggest that you go back and read it....:D

1) Install each beta as NEW.
2) Sign out of all signed in services (see below for list), then sign back in.
3) Location services (if turned on): Disable Popular, Frequent Locations, Location iAds, WiFi Networking.
4) Turn off Bluetooth unless needed.
5) Do not use the new "live" wallpapers.
6) Turn off "Background App Refresh"

Kind of worried about signing out/turning off iMessage and Facetime, last time that happened it took 24 hours for it to re-activate. Anybody else experienced this issue while doing these steps?

Sigh...when will the newbs ever learn? I'm done.

Instead of trying to be smart, maybe you should explain yourself.

I turned them off and they both took under a minute to re-enable.

A second grain of salt should be taken when reading posts made by someone who makes a placeholder thread to give the lowdown on a beta before even using it.

That was classic.

I made the thread as a place to discuss the beta that was released. It's not like I posted it before the beta was out. Sheesh. We do this with every beta that's released. A new thread is made for each beta to discuss it's bug, new features, and the update as a whole. I didn't give any "lowdown" on the beta before I used it, I merely made a thread for discussion once people started getting it installed, so nice try.

This is all fine and dandy but I would take any advice from a self proclaimed "developer" with a huge grain of salt. First off anyone with 100 bucks in their pocket can be a legit developer. Secondly any developer that is putting so much time into researching what to turn off to get the best battery life out of his or her phone just isn't really a true developer because of the NDA. Some of these tips will save battery of course but because of common sense but the others? Just a bunch of bunk. These threads promising great combinations of quick fix settings for a beta are mostly garbage. Do a clean install and have fun testing B4, the suggested settings in this thread really wont do much except cripple your phone.

Uh...you've been here since June so...

Something definitive for your original list is Settings > Accessibility > Reduce Motion turn this to ON to remove Parallax.

I haven't noticed a huge enough drain from Parallax (nor any logs in relation to it) to warrant the function removal, but feel free to try it if it does help.

If you've got some Diagnostic Logs that mention it, I'll be happy to add it to the thread. I just don't want to add anymore steps that aren't truly needed, as the ones currently are already somewhat tedious.

Well, you don't have to follow my advice. I only stumbled across these issues when I was testing my own apps with the new APIs and was reading the logs, felt I would share the information.

@ the bolded part, nothing I show you here cripples your phone. All of the functions I ask you to disable (minus Bluetooth when not in use) only turns off BROKEN features causing issues.

All of my information comes from factual log data, where does yours come from?

That seems like a huge project. And while I can't guarantee it is BROKEN when activating the gyroscope you will see the equivalent of a physic game's chip usage every time the user looks at the homescreen and moves.

Nothing BETA is BROKEN, hence the name BETA.

Just thought I would leave that here.

What a colossal misunderstanding of "beta".

Agreed. It's okay to call something "broken" in a beta if it doesn't work, regardless of the fact that it might not be expected to work at that stage.

I know a lot of you are complaining about battery life, so I've decided to make this thread and point out how you can get your battery life back to what it was, if not even better then when you were running iOS 6. I'll keep updating this as a filter through log files.

Enjoy your awesome battery life!

Is it only those applications or is it any application that you have to sign into?
Instagram? Netflix? Yelp? Skype?

I understand that this question is already answered in the original post but do you have to sign out everything first and then log in or can you just logout and then log back in right afterwards?
Does it make a difference?

I follow all the instruction, does not help much. But there is a very little improvement on battery life.

I did clean install, and restore the data from itunes.

From 100% to 56% in 3,5 hours

nah see you actually need to setup the accounts and cloud stuff fresh instead of restoring that data from a backup

or at least that's what worked for me

thanks for the guide jare

Right now I've only seen issues with the apps in the list. I have all 4 apps you listed as well and they've never popped up the issue on my testing.

Log out and log in afterwards is fine.

That's the problem right there, all the work you did was undone by the backup you restored.

Thanks, glad I helped!

Thanks Jare.

Another question, lets say I don't have Rdio installed on my phone, but when I install it and log in. Do I log in, log out and then log back in?
