after some testing, looks like I'm getting 6.5 hours heavy wifi, bluetooth, and lte enabled usage and 18 standby on a full charge. pretty good if I don't say so myself! (I keep bluetooth on since I use it regularly in my car and wifi for airplay)

Glad to hear my tips have helped!

I'm doing better with everything on except bluetooth. Run the Beta as it was intended and you will be surprised.

Well if that was the case, then you wouldn't be running it at all. Seeing as the beta was only intended for developers to platform test their apps against the new API's and NOT for the average joe to play around with and show off at the playground.

This is not bad! Took a couple of days after the instructions and a hard reset for it to get like this. It's almost 10% every hour! :)

Not completely sure yet. It's only been a couple of hours since the release of Beta 5. Give it a couple of days or a week for final answers.

Not sure if there are any logs but the only logs I know of is when you're battery dies and your phone makes a "low-battery" log which shows what service was running when your phone died.

Normally when I choose the .ipsw via iTunes it completely wipes the phone. This time nothing was wiped, it just seemed to lay iOS 7 overtop my existing iOS 6 so none of my data was affected. How can I install the beta fresh, with no residual data left over from the previous iOS?

I shift-clicked update, should I have shift-clicked restore? It's too early to tell whether this has affected my battery performance but it seems okay so far.

If you want a fresh install always select Restore...

Thanks for your reply. I'm going to stick it out for a few more charges because it doesn't feel like iOS is lagging at all, which is usually present in a bad iOS install. My battery for this charge cycle matched my lowest charge on iOS 6, so maybe it was just an anomaly.

Battery on wifi is fine. Battery on cellular is terrible and will remain terrible..especially without a full signal. All options on and using the phone as intended I get great battery life on wifi which is whenever I'm at the gym. When at home using straight cellular (thankful to have unlimited data) it drains very fast. Good thing it also charges crazy fast too.

Thank you!

Fantastic, and so quick. Thanks for all the hard work. I was freaked out after downloading iOS7 on Friday and playing with it for a few hrs on Saturday that my battery life went down to 58%. I was starting to think I would have to recharge twice a day. I did all the usual things, switched off Bluetooth, Cellular Data, Positional Services etc with little effect. I hope you don't mind that I have copied your instructions and link give to my friends and family.:D

I performed the steps during betas but never asked whether a setup as new via DFU mode benefits from these steps. OP?

Battery life tips

Jare, thanks for those ideas...very helpful.

Do you or anyone else know if there is an easier way to close apps not needed rather then one by one or by using two fingers etc at once?
Is there a reason it's like that on purpose or just some quirk?
Thanks, happy holidays.
