Agree with the idea that, for example, of the 10 things on that list I would only ever purchase 5 of those devices. Plus by buying whatever company you prefer for each item, and getting sales, it really doesn't cost that much to buy everything you need/want. I did an exercise during Black Friday sales and I was surprised at how inexpensive it can be.

I think the really striking thing these days is how steadily real prices have declined through a period of relatively (past ~40 years) high inflation. Not to mention, Apple devices used to almost never go on sale, and you had to get refurb or edu for lower prices. Now edu prices and sometimes even lower are widely available at retailers even 6-8 weeks after launch.

As others have mentioned, this list makes it clear that the iPad + Magic Keyboard Folio + Pencil is worst value in this list... can't imagine user that's price sensitive enough for rest of this list is game
for these overpriced accessories

Yeah, it makes a lot more sense to get a better MacBook and skip the iPad entirely. Add a Wacom tablet if you need to use a stylus for your work. Trying to replace a laptop with an overpriced, underpowered iPad is silly.

Or you could get an M3 Ultra Mac Studio with 256GB of RAM and 16TB storage, an XDR nano texture display, an iPhone 17PM with 2TB of storage, and a cellular nano texture 13” iPad Pro with 2TB and pencil/keyboard, and an Apple Watch Hermes for ONLY $1750 … per a month

ah yes the unnecesary air tag,
I use AirTags and love them. Got one on my wallet, on my keys and in my backpack. Also threw one in the car because i heard people have recovered stolen vehicles that way. It’s a great product. Also the way it is integrated into the ecosystem is great. If i leave the wallet behind, i get about a block down the road my iPhone alerts me that i forgot it.

I think the more useful comparison is what $2000 worth of Apple devices gets you vs one folding thing.

It’s $100 short of an iPhone 17 Pro and an iPad Pro. But you can get one Pro and a very capable base 17 or iPad Air with change left over.

Not sure how this information is useful for most people. I’m sure there are a few who perhaps feel Apple products are part of their identity in some way, and owning Apple products in every category is some sort of goal. I’ve never met anyone like that.
I’m one. Not identity in any way but I love them
