I downloaded ssh'd and installed through ifile. It failed the first time worked the second then I restarted my phone and the apple loading bar came up.... Then when I got to my homescreen it started searching for my licenses and the edit your homescreen message came up, as if I just restored my phone. All my apps were scattered so I reorganized them and the new Cydia seems to be working fine....just weird what happened though

Did anyone else get the Dev-Team package automatically installed with this update??? I did the iFile method to install the new Cydia then checked my packages and there it was for some reason???

Wondering if I should remove it (Dev-Team package).

Other than that seems to be running O.K.

I have a question. After you install it with iFile and the file is just sitting there, do you just leave it and exit or can you delete the deb file after you install it?
You can delete the .deb file and exit iFile. You can either re-spring or reboot.

got mine going after abet of a pain because I got a call in the middle of the install. but it was worth the hassle the load difference alone is huge

Works great and fast. Installed over existing cydia.

I just installed Cydia 1.0.3366-1 using the instructions found here: http://www.blogsdna.com/14111/how-to-download-install-new-cydia-1-0-3366-1-on-ios-4-1-older-firmware.htm

After the install is complete do I need to keep the .deb file where it is or can I delete it from /var/root?

Yes, you can delete the deb file. However, it's not that big, so why not keep it in case you ever need it.

I did it this way on my iPhone 4 with 4.1 and it worked great. It is sooo much faster :D

I saw some say it made no difference for them. I don't know what they're smoking. It's so nice to have a Cydia that actually works right. One of the things that used to really irk me was looking at debs from various sources and having the version number go blank after looking at a few debs. The only was to fix it was to restart Cydia and then it would do it again eventually. With the new Cydia, that no longer happens.

Wow

I just used the root repo and it worked great, very easy! Does anyone know why this isn't pushed out to all users? I would have never known to do this had I not seen this thread.

So this is all that's really needed? Why are people messing with iFile if all it takes is to add this repo and hit the Changes button in Cydia?

Thanks for enlightening! :)

Ditto. I added the repo source and installed the update in less than 30 seconds, and I'm up and running on my iPhone 4 running 4.1.

i use ifile because cydia changes takes forever to load for me. it literally take about 3-4 mins. using safari and ifile was a lot quicker.

It's just as easy to me, if not easier. All you do is click the .deb link on your phone and it'll automatically open in iFile, then one tap and it's installed.

That used to annoy me too. I'm glad it's fixed.

Loading times are far better, just installed it on my 4.1, looks a little better too.

This is an awesome update. Fixed one of my biggest complaints with Cydia, that it is slower than molasses.
