You can delete the .deb file and exit iFile. You can either re-spring or reboot.I have a question. After you install it with iFile and the file is just sitting there, do you just leave it and exit or can you delete the deb file after you install it?
Google is your friend for that one, I got mine from cydia_1.0.3366-1_iphoneos-arm.debWhere can I get it from? The repo that hosted it last year seems to be away with the fairies.
got mine going after abet of a pain because I got a call in the middle of the install. but it was worth the hassle the load difference alone is huge
I just installed Cydia 1.0.3366-1 using the instructions found here: http://www.blogsdna.com/14111/how-to-download-install-new-cydia-1-0-3366-1-on-ios-4-1-older-firmware.htm
After the install is complete do I need to keep the .deb file where it is or can I delete it from /var/root?

I did it this way on my iPhone 4 with 4.1 and it worked great. It is sooo much faster![]()
So this is all that's really needed? Why are people messing with iFile if all it takes is to add this repo and hit the Changes button in Cydia?
Thanks for enlightening!![]()

Ditto. I added the repo source and installed the update in less than 30 seconds, and I'm up and running on my iPhone 4 running 4.1.
It's just as easy to me, if not easier. All you do is click the .deb link on your phone and it'll automatically open in iFile, then one tap and it's installed. So this is all that's really needed? One of the things that used to really irk me was looking at debs from various sources and having the version number go blank after looking at a few debs. The only was to fix it was to restart Cydia and then it would do it again eventually. With the new Cydia, that no longer happens.
