I am also missing or not understanding the problem. This is a big company and they have a process to deal with replacements. It would seem follow the process and be done.

They would also not send me a shipping label so I could drop it off in a drop box next to my house, instead they were adamant about me going to my closest ups store, which is a half hour away, and always busy. They tried telling me this was a better option because I could just hand them the iPad and not worry about packaging it myself, I was hot at this point and they gave not a **** in the world.
There are reasons for this. They don't let the customer define the returns process, they have one. They don't want the client to make decisions about how to package the unit, UPS is who they have contracted to do so.

This is mine. don't know if it's worth exchanging... My backlighting is even, contrast is good, no dead pixels, no tinges, and nice temperature. I don't think it's worth the risk of getting stuck in perfection exchange hell... Anyone have any input?

Also, note that this has no effect on my screen so to the OP you likely have 2 separate issues.

I would keep that iPad for now, and exchange it later, unless you never notice it.

The whole point of this thread is the terrible customer service that I received on the phone.

1. quit up selling me with warranties when I have a defective product

2. the guy would not accept what my problem was, tried to say it was something else, and was not a defect.

3. not willing to work on a shipping solution, even on this very forum people are saying they are sent a shipping label, like I requested.

4. Guy was convinced I had a 4g model, which made for a very awkward moment when he suddenly admitted defeat and changed the subject.

Having similar issues last year with the iPad 2 and now this year again with the iPad, I am quickly loosing faith in apples ability to launch a product up to their standards.

unless you spend $100, apples customer service is average, if not lacking compared to other retailers I deal with.

This is my last post on this thread.
