Well, the days is finally almost here, just a little more than 24 hrs. Post your game plan on pre-ordering.
btw, do you just keep refreshing the apple store app manually?

Refresh refresh refresh refresh

*cross fingers*

refresh refresh

*jump up for joy*

*checks availability*

*cries*

*compromises on a different band*

*still is happy*

*go to sleep*

26 hours 20 minutes.

Open website if I can.

Open app

refresh

repeat

see which of my top choices I can get the first two weeks and madly buy it.

once that is confirmed... buy my green sports band. (unless huge wait for SS Link and I will keep either the black or white one I managed to get)

The guy above me forgot the most important step.

** Brag on this website about what I got

Lol, think all of you missed a key step.praying. pray during refreshing page, pray during selecting the watch you want & ordering it, pray that the delivery date doesn't slip, & most of all pray that the website doesn't crash.

Casually open App
Preorder Black SS
Finish
Preorder SS w/ White Sport Band
Finish
Go to sleep.

I'm a newbie to preordering through Apple. I never had problems picking up an iPad in store on launch and ordering my iPhones through Verizon's business account.

If I stay up and go online to preorder my Apple watch to the minute at 12am PST what are the chances of getting it on the 24th? Is it still a luck kind of thing? I keep thinking of concert tickets and high demand stuff where it's to the second. Is it really that difficult?

It's funny seeing the "what's the plan" thread pop up every 12 hours :D

Anyway I have a question. Does anyone know what the return policy will be? I would honestly like to try the watch out but if it's not amazing I'm not sticking with it. 7 days? Will me wearing it every day or getting a little scratched make me not be able to return it?

Yes and no. If servers go wacky then it is all luck , you'll be locked out bunch of other people won't, if servers ok and you order right at 3am pst you'll get it as soon as anyone else

I'm guessing they will follow Apple's typical 14 day return policy. They usually do a quick look over for obvious damage or large scratches but if it's nothing major it's usually not an issue. At least that's been my experience in the past with Apple products

Refresh from my MacBook
Refresh from my iPad
Refresh from my iPhone
Refresh from my wife's iPhone
Finally pre order my Sport Space Grey if that fails (out of stock) I'll go with the Silver one with white band, I'll be happy regardless
And then go to bed to get laid and fall asleep#

Not entirely sure yet as I kind of want to see if it's possible to make a day 1 reservation at one of the three Apple stores near me. But, barring that, the main plan is to take advantage of the huge increase in stability one gets by ordering with the iOS App. Get in, get ordered, and get out.

Got the house to myself all day on preorder day so...

Get Apple Store up on Mac, Laptop & iPad
Refresh a bunch of times
Get on Skype call with 7 other people who are also preordering AW
Once live, scream while trying to find my favourites section
Preorder 42mm AW Sport Blue Band (if there's a long wait for blue, try to get white band 42mm AW Sport and if there's a long wait for white also, just preorder blue band)
Rejoice
Post screenshot of my order here on MR
Browse the MR forum thread of preorders for a bit
Wait for email confirmations and tracking number

It's going to be awesome!

IMO, i think whoever pre-order for delivery at midnight PDT will be fine. But I wouldn't be surprised if all watches for delivery on the 24th are all gone my noon PDT.

I'm going to try the web site but if I have no luck I'll go immediately to the Apple app. I've never pre-ordered anything through the Apple app so I have a few questions:

1. Will it ask me for my credit card info at checkout or is there a place I can enter it now so I am ready for tomorrow night? I have the same question for the website too.

2. Is there any advantage to the iPad app over the iPhone app or vice versa?

3. Any other tips?

Thanks

set up express checkout on your account right now and favourite the watch you want to speed up the process.

Have both opened up because app tends to work first.

With the app, if you have your credit card info already saved to your account, all you need in checkout is the security code (3-5 digit code on the back of your CC)

Express checkout isn't available on the app but all you need to confirm purchase is your CC's security code which won't hold you back from processing your order majorly in terms of time.

In terms of tips, refresh the pages at preorder time regularly and preorder as fast as possible.

Just keep refreshing the store front page hoping to reserve. I do not want to pre order, just hoping I can reserve at 12:01. Also I was digging around in the source code for the watch I want (Sport White band 42mm) and I saved a link to reserving it. Going to try loading that link as soon as the store opens.

----------

wasn't there apple store issues on the iPhone 6 launch?

You could say that... I wanted the TMO iPhone 6 which wasn't available on the Apple Store app so I had to use the website which would not open until 4 AM (central time). However once the store opened for me I was able to easily order the exact phone I wanted for pickup on launch day. But 2 hours of refreshing was awful

- Go to the Apple Store app
- Go to my Favorites section
- Select my 38MM Space Gray Apple Watch Sport
- Order it
- Go on here and brag about it
- Go to sleep
- Wake up a few hours later
- Go in to try it on in the Apple Store near me

I'm in Australia and the U.S. contact centre have confirmed that Australia will have walk-in try on available as of tomorrow (Friday) morning (this is prior to reservation and pre-order release). So, my plan:

1. Head to store tomorrow mid morning and scramble with other shoppers to check Watch out (just to confirm if I prefer the SS or Aluminium finish, so a try on not that crucial)
2. Order via app at 5:01pm
3. Wait impatiently for delivery

Have saved the direct link to my watch on the store. Refresh every 30 seconds until it shows up. Enter info, finish. Easy as that :-D
