A little more than 24 hrs, Post your pre-order Game Plan!

set up express checkout on your account right now and favourite the watch you want to speed up the process.

Favorited, thanks.

Have both opened up because app tends to work first.

With the app, if you have your credit card info already saved to your account, all you need in checkout is the security code (3-5 digit code on the back of your CC)

Express checkout isn't available on the app but all you need to confirm purchase is your CC's security code which won't hold you back from processing your order majorly in terms of time.

In terms of tips, refresh the pages at preorder time regularly and preorder as fast as possible.

Running into a problem. I have a debit card saved to my account. I want to pre-order the watch with American Express for the extended warranty they provide. To do this it seems I have to remove my debit card completely and replace it with my AMEX. I don't want to do that, can't I just choose which card to use on checkout or does it HAVE to be the debit card I have saved to my account?

Thanks for the assistance.

Cough cough don't buy get a MacBook Pro instead , better buck for you hard earn $$ . That's just my opinion that is , you go ahead and buy anything you want : )

oh I know, I bought my macbook pro back in January. But I was kinda thinking that it could be busier than usual on the apple store online Friday morning.

I'm in Australia and the U.S. contact centre have confirmed that Australia will have walk-in try on available as of tomorrow (Friday) morning (this is prior to reservation and pre-order release). So, my plan:

1. Head to store tomorrow mid morning and scramble with other shoppers to check Watch out (just to confirm if I prefer the SS or Aluminium finish, so a try on not that crucial)
2. Order via app at 5:01pm
3. Wait impatiently for delivery

I have no idea why this wasn't the same for all countries. Why didn't Apple begin try-on appointments this Friday and then pre-orders next. With the whole push to get people to order online and given the speed new products generally sell out at, wouldn't it make more sense to let those who want to try on, try on first?

I know I will break before pre-orders start and get one so I can trial it, knowin I can return it in 14 days. I guess the choice will depend on what is available , don't want to wait 4-6 weeks for one

I feel similar. I want the SS link but I had thoughts of getting a sport or classic leather band down the road. If either of those options has a better ship date, I'd strongly consider going that route and just hunting down the link band later on

I have 2 favourites saved so I was hoping there would just be a "buy now" button.

Anyone have any idea how purchasing from favourites list is going to work?

I'm from Sweden and I wonder how the preorder will work. I just tried to check out from the UK store with my Swedish Apple ID and it worked fine. If that is true for the preorder as well then I just need to use my Borderlinx adress. Anyone else thinking about this?

IMO, i think whoever pre-order for delivery at midnight PDT will be fine. But I wouldn't be surprised if all watches for delivery on the 24th are all gone my noon PDT.

Yeah your right, in my experience from ordering Apple products on pre order day I've always received on day one. Its the people who tend to order a few hours later that get the next shipping batch and even then some of them get their dates bumped back to launch day as it edges closer.

Wake up at 1:50
Grab ipad
Open app
Purchase SSLink42
Purchase SSSport42
Grab another 45 minutes sleep
Get ready for gym

hope SS + milanese is available for launch delivery, copy paste gift card and back to the forums and read peoples stories :)

I think a fair amount of watch/band combos won't be shipping immediately. I have five choices in mind but if none of those are going to ship for 4-6 weeks, then I'm scrapping my plans completely and will visit the watch in person first.

We know it will be a big surprise, and hopefully it doesn't become a White iPhone 4 scenario where they shipped out 10 months late... I could see Apple being totally back ordered on popular models and people "settling" for whatever. Fact is, watches are personal- I won't be buying something this expensive that I settled for.

Contrary to typical iPhone launches, I believe the site will handle the traffic. Outside of Apple fan sites, response seems to be temperate- I work with ~800 developers and engineers, very neutral and ambivalent about the product, at least compared to the iPhone.

This watch can ONLY be used with existing iPhone owners, it's not a solo artist. The store needs no web connection to the carrier databases to verify upgrade eligibility. I've never had issues pre-ordering an iPad, thus I suspect the watch will sell out faster for initial shipping than iPads, but much easier to complete the order process iPhones.

This could have prevented people from over ordering too.

other than the obvious

I think other than the obvious (all listed above), start early, have app loaded, have exact model listed (maybe even FAVORITED)

Make sure to have your CREDIT CARD INFO UP TO DATE in the apple store, so you don't have to do anything but click BUY and won't be hassled with out of date address info, expiry info, etc..

I'm not sure how the cart process works: if it's IN your cart do you have some time to complete order, or reducing precious seconds is going to help

Refresh refresh refresh refresh

I think the Favorites is just a shortcut button to the actual product. Considering there are so many models, it's a lot of clicking and swiping to the particular model you want. So, it's just going to be Favorites, click your favorited model, add to cart, and checkout.

- Go to the Apple Store app
- Go to my Favorites section
- Select my 38MM Space Gray Apple Watch Sport
- Order it
- Go on here and brag about it
- Go to sleep
- Wake up a few hours later
- Go in to try it on in the Apple Store near me

Same thing here but i will go for the 42mm watch ,
good luck everyone. I always think its the people that dont order is right away that end up getting back ordered. If you pre-order within the 1hr to 1hr half usually you are good to go. i think there will be more people willing to try it on 1st and dont mind waiting to get exactly what they want , instead of rushing to order and not be happy the have to return it and re-order and still wait

Have saved the direct link to my watch on the store. Refresh every 30 seconds until it shows up. Enter info, finish. Easy as that :-D

Until Apple decides to start orders at something like 3:24 EST instead of 3:01 EST and everyone is cursing Apple.

Is there a limit per customer?

I want to order 5 space black sport edition at the same time, do you think it will be possible or should I purchase them trough separate accounts.

I'd order it through multiple accounts. Nothing official from Apple, but MR have heard rumors that orders might be limited to 2 per customer or something.

I will have the apple store website up and I already marked my favoritee watch and have enabled Express checkout., and plus I will probably the apple store app open also on my iPhone. planing on taking a nap then wake up around 2:50am (EST)

Favourites page has an add to basket link on it, so if you send yourself a link to that page on your phone so that it opens in app, you can just keep refreshing that page until it comes up, then hit add to basket or buy now when the buttons go active.
