Have any of you tried Siri? It is actually pretty accurate at hearing what you say. I love using the app but honestly, I end up typing what I am looking for more than talking to it. Yes, you look like a tool when you speak to your phone.

And just when that idiotic Blue Tooth Headset Fad seems to be passing...

We have a whole new kind of Imbecilic move to make in public.

At least I'll be able to pick out the winners and avoid a little easier.

pretty much. Apple playing catchup software-wise. but Hardware + Design? Apple > the rest.

You got it the other way round. iOS is pretty optimized, smooth and relatively bug-free compared to other platforms, say Android. Not saying others are all bug and malware ridden mess either. Sure they are slow at implementing features like multitasking, video calls, better and less intrusive notification system, and Voice Control, but they do it well the first time.

I don't care much about design but the general consensus is that Apple products have a higher build quality that its competitors. Though I very much prefer lighter, more durable plastic rather than super fragile glass coverings.

Hardware is where their competitors shine at, given the rate phones are churned out these days. Faster processor speeds, higher resolutions (more pixels), screen sizes for everyone and some upcoming phones will even boast 12 megapixels cameras rivaling point-and-click equivalents.

Guess what - WP7.5 just shipped with FULL speech interface(Call, Find, App, Text). Eat it Apple, you're a bunch of copycats.

Exactly. It needs to be *extremely* accurate or it's more trouble than it's worth. Like 99% accurate. I doubt that'll happen.

You've never used Siri, have you? It's astonishingly accurate. And AWESOME.

they need to showcase it with someone with a strong accent, then we will see how accurate it is

After reading and watching the mock up video, I am impressed and can't wait for this new feature. Definitely will help while on the go. "Bitch, what's the weather for tomorrow?!" haha only kidding.

I hope this works on the iPhone 4 and isn't purposely excluded to make people upgrade.

revolutionary!! Just like facetime.. you know the thing I used the first day I got the phone...

and never again

Just because you don't use something, that doesn't mean no one does.

True. And those of you who have fat fingers, but don't want Apple to incorperate an unreasonably large screen won't have to tackle with the keyboard on the "tiny" 3.5 inch screen.

I wish I could say "List all games" and it would show a list of all of them on my iPhone without me having to hand organize everything. Search doesn't even do that.

I would use this for texts and directions when im alone

Using Dragon Dictate and Dragon Go! does this already. Both free apps.

Not suggesting this isn't pretty cool (I wouldn't dare:eek:), and having it as an integrated app does make it more convenient.

It will be great on the new iPhone 4S. (I kid, I joke,. I come from love. Please don't hurt me...)

;) :D

Edit: 4:42PM and -7 and counting. Mustn't joke about something as serious as a phone.

I can see no iFanboys have anything to say about MSFT beating Apple to the punch on Speech Interface.
