Guys are you a published scholar with a phd from a top 50 institution in the world?
Do you have peer reviewed publications?

If not, please stop disseminating misleading and false information.

Where exactly did you read "Principled" anywhere in my post. I quite simply said I would like to be able to delete any app on MY phone I purchase. Don't see how it is a big deal. Random vitriol from you..... weird but okay.

If you want to delete the app but don't care about the size or the sight of it then you simply want to be able to delete it based on principal. If it doesn't effect you, then it ostensibly doesn't exist, right?

So you just want total control over every app on your device even though there are hundreds of "sub-apps", routines, languages, fonts, drivers, etc. that take up a lot of space that don't seem to bother you.

You want to delete every app on your device even if you never put it there. Nothing wrong with that. Just admit it.

I'm still a bit worried of our privacy.. I know about the sandboxing system, but something tells me that some health information is just too sensitive to put inside a device, no matter how many security measures taken.

There is already an Aussie startup company with the same name as HealthKit. Irony anyone?

http://www.slashgear.com/apple-healthkit-targeted-by-same-name-startup-03331938/

https://www.healthkit.com/

The company's co-founder Alison Hardacre spoke to the folks at Wired about the issue, saying, "it is very flattering that they like our name, but I'm a little let down because how hard would it have been to spend five seconds to put HealthKit.com into their browser and find us?"

I hope they sue and give Apple a taste of their own medicine.

I don't know what you're talking about, but I absolutely hate the Withings Health Mate app and would love to replace it with this. Third party hardware accessory maker, do your job and integrate with my OS of choice! Hurry!!

Well I think the withings health app is okay with it's graphs and other weight related statistics, but my main app is argus which syncs well with withings and in my opinion from the little I saw is designed better than health kit.

Humans have lived primarily on grass seeds (grains) and cabbage for our entire history.

Nope (for the grains part). Only for about 10'000 years or so (depending on the region). Our history extends back much further - homo sapiens probably evolved around 200'000 years ago. Well, if you don't believe in the Bible that is. ;)

When humans started to fed on grains, they got smaller. And probably also unhealthier. Julius Caesar already complained like 2000 years ago, that his soldiers were weaker than the germanic ones because they (romans) had to eat grains which were easy to transport, whereas the germanic warriors would eat meat and milk and were bigger and stronger.

But yeah. Off topic... :)

To each his own, but I generally prefer first-party apps. If :apple: can paint me a graph of my weight, I don't want anyone else to do it.

Epidemiological evidence is pretty clear that higher red meat and dairy consumption lead to higher incidence of obesity, diabetes, cancer, cardiovascular disorders and shortening of lifespan.

Agriculture involving domesticated crops dates back to approximately 10K BCE. Earlier farming involved the intentional planting of wild plants which were left to grow untended and were harvested later. This included grains. Even hunter/gatherers gathered grains to be eaten. The Germanic tribes of Caesar's time lived in settled farming communities, they also ate grains.

Maybe apple is thinking of this as a platform like the App Store, airplay etc where different third part devices can fill in different aspects.

Maybe iWatch is intended as one major device which will start filling in the info but not seen as the only.

By the way impedance or caliper methods are incredibly inaccurate.

I just did mine with those two and compared to DEXA method which is much much more accurate since it measures density from diffraction and calculates fat from the differential density of fat vs bone vs muscle and the result was totally different.

And the number is?

No I meant I want to be around 10, which would be extremely fit, but I was not around 10.

I could be 15 or I could be 50 from that comment.

I work out twice a day and I eat fairly well. I would need to cut back on wine and beer.

I'm at 14% body fat.

It's extremely difficult to hit 10%

What measurement method did you use to get 14%?
