i think we are going to crazy about the tracking , analytic . turn everythings into data, addicted to data. but REMEMBER everyone is different, you dont have to give anybody to judge what you actually feeling.

haha.... i dunno what useful info can be got from how i sleep..

This would be good probably to see a pattern of how bad people sleep, so they'll wake up and change their ways .... (darn it)

I would get a great night's sleep by keeping the room dark and going to bed at a reasonable time. No app required.

Technology is always pitched as making our lives better. In reality, much of it is pointless, and it's destroying our humanity.

That seems a bit exaggerated. And in contradiction to your statement, then there is technology that assists people who struggle with sleep and helps assess where there are interruptions, intervals and inconsistencies. So in theory, technology can further track and help The medical field to understand sleep disorders on a more advanced level. Sleep applications are nothing more than a general measurement, but at least serve as a tool for troubleshooting and reference.

I think sleep monitoring is fascinating.
When I got my Apple watch I wore it for a week sleeping just to see what my sleeping heart rate was like.
Every night it would record a single occurrence of my heart rate doubling within one of it's measurements samples.
Why it did this I can only guess at being due to REM sleep or a dream which made me active.
I'd like to know more about my sleeping patterns, yeah why not, I think this is a good buy for Apple.

Apple has a way to monitor how many people fall asleep in the next keynote :p

You'll probably have to use with the charger attached. No doubt Apple will find a dongle that one can shove up ones backside to handle this.

What is the point of having all these features when watch can not run with charging for more than 12 hrs

I guess you've never used an Apple Watch. The first gen watch would go at least 24 hours on a charge. I used the first gen watch with 2 different sleep tracking apps, without battery issues. I would simply charge the watch every morning while taking a shower and getting dressed for work, and I was good to go.

The second gen watches (series 1&2...I have a 2) last much longer. My series 2 will go a full 2 days without a charge. And these are not just my isolated examples. My company has developed an Apple Watch app, and our testing confirms the same general conclusions.

It's not helpful to the discussion to throw out baseless half truths.

Now i want it, upgrade and bring the price down and i'll buy.

As long as the dongle has censors in it i'm ok with that.

People are getting so worked about Beddit. Honestly is it really worth losing sleep over?

I can't think or decide stuff for myself and can't express an opinion other than what I've read on my iPhone or been told to do on my Apple Watch but If Beddit tells me when and where to power down for the day then who am I to argue. Or indeed, show an independent outlook? Don't ask me. Ask my iPhone! Thanks.

Hello's Sense would have made a better acquisition. The product seems a little safe than this one. Good luck to them with it though. It can be very useful.

I'm glad Apple purchased it, from that I learned such thing exists. Sounds really interesting and useful.
I hope Apple won't discontinue it one day.
But when you were oblivious to said "thing exists" were you actually having a problem? Or are you OK knowing now that you don't have a problem? I could sell you a rock that keeps away tigers, you say "how does it work?" I say "Well you don't see any tigers around here do you?"

It is creepy Apple is collecting this data.
Every Siri search is therefore "creepy" in your eyes. Does Apple have a search engine? No they don't. They partner with Microsoft and use their Bing search engine. Everything that goes through Siri is data-mined by Microsoft, now do you think these results aren't shared between Microsoft and Apple? Please, it's in the T&Cs but hey at least Apple can say say they're not doing it directly.
