I am asking myself every day "what if" playing NASDAQ. Which is wrong by the way but I can't resist it :D

Wait, so you can make more money in the stock market if you know what will happen years and years in the future?

Cry me a river. You take chances. It wasn't cold hard cash - it was stocks.

I was reminded of this

OK, I can't steal a pic properly so here's the link to the site

No wonder he's been acting so pissed off recently. It explains his nickel and diming of the consumption idevices. Gotta recover those billions somehow :).

Should've, could've, would've,

You beat me to it. This is a silly, silly article. I can think of lots of times in my own life where I would have been much better off had I opted for a different financial decision. Obviously my numbers are much smaller, but these decisions are multiples of my annual salary and mortgage which probably have a much larger impact on me, than this quoted decision has on Jobs who is still worth more than he'll ever spend.. So this is just completely ridiculous to analyze.

I think SJ does not give a **** about Money right about now. He cares more about his legacy and about how history will look back at his work and call him the most influential man in computer history. That my friend is bigger than 10 billion dollars.

I think he is more worry about his health than about how much money he has in the bank.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I would call the most influential person Gates. When billions go to work everyday, they are logging on to Mac OS X, but Windows (no matter what you think about it). He is a close 2nd though.

I agree, Gates has already defined his legacy. Not so much because of the Windows monopoly that he created, but because of his philanthropic works since he left the company. He is making a big difference for the better across the globe through his generosity. Maybe if Jobs had that extra 10 billion he would do the same, though past experience suggests not.

Yes, Gates is a real saint.

He's a way more sympathetic person than Steve Jobs is, even without considering his philanthropy. It's not difficult to be more sympathetic than Jobs, though. :D

Jobs would have kept the 10 Billion for himself. Gates would have donated it to a worthy charity.

If money was the main motivation behind the man, he would
just allow Flash on the iPad and sell porn at the AppStore.

Come one everyone. Whether you are a thousandaire, millionaire or a billionaire missing out on $10 billion "hurts" in some form or another. A lot to some or a little but nonetheless its A LOT of money. If you needed or not, if you cared for it or not. Just my two cents. :)

haha! But on a serious note - compared to the money-grabbing Jobs, Gates is much closer to beatification. Maybe the living Apple deity can find his road to Damascus before he pops his clogs, but I somehow doubt that. There's no money in it.

I would be more impressed with Gates if he had earned his money in a way that didn't land him in court in every country of the civilized world...

His philanthropy (fairly or unfairly) thus comes off as self-redemption rather than real altruism.

Tragic

I feel sorry for the guy. Do you realize that if he sold his options right now, at an average price of $599 each for the 32GB wifi model, he can only afford to buy 4.1 million iPads?:D

if he really believes in apple he would have hanged onto his stock. why would he get rid of them, makes me wonder...
