Hey everyone,

So I'm not sure If someone of you noticed but I recently upgraded my broken SS S0 to the Ceramic White one, that has now been returned as it was defective and I just simply couldn't handle the constant worry of wearing it without thinking I'll damage it.

So I decided to go back to SS, I checked both the Leather and Link bands, none of which are available for collection or delivery? Is this a sign that come the rumoured March event we'll be seeing price drops or new bands?! As I might hold off until then...

Thoughts anyone??

Anyone's guess at this point but it seems more than likely there will be a refresh at the WWDC. Cheaper? Doubtful. More expensive? The magic 8 ball seems to indicate yes as they pulled this stunt on the new MacBook Pros with the idea less is more; albeit more expensive. Go figure.

I think you made a wise choice going back with the SS as it's the only AW IMHO that you can throw any band/strap at it and it looks pretty decent.

The consensus around the rumor mill seems to be that most of the models being out of stock point to new bands being unveiled at the (also rumored) iPad event later this month. Haven't heard anything about price drops but it's not out of the realm of possibility!

WWDC will likely not have any indication of any Apple hardware bands being released. The only thing that will happen there is the watchOS 4 demo in all likeness. If the March keynote exists, it's been rumored that watchbands may see a refresh this month with new variations.

I didn't think a Series 3 was coming as such, I just had a feeling a new set of Series 2 with different bands will be released, which is annoying as going without an Apple Watch for a few weeks seems painful!

Didn't Apple price drop the Aluminium at a recent event?

Speaking of, would anoyone recommend actually getting the Aluminium over the SS? I heard it's a lot lighter ??

I don't think a Series 3 is likely in March, because if it is, by now we should have seen at least a hint of some leaks out of the Chinese factories, but we haven't so far and we are already in March. September might be possible but even that is not likely. I'd say March 2018 to be a realistic time frame.

The Series 1 price wasn't dropped, it was just a set price when Apple introduced the Series 2 aluminum.

The aluminum is 40% lighter than the stainless steel version I believe. It's a little light for my liking, but if thats something that you prefer over the stainless, then that would be the way to go.

I did have the Stainless Steel before and the weight never actually bothered me, it was more money saving with it seeing as they all do the same thing! But it's the Sapphire display that's the game changer I suppose, so it will most likely be another SS.

Just gotta wait it out now, as both SS I wanted are OOS!! Here's hoping Apple spring a surprise !

I'm surprised more folk aren't talking about this.

Some models —like the high end ones with the link bracelet — have been listed as "SOLD OUT" on Apple's website for weeks.

Seems odd that "new bands coming" is being touted as the explanation for that. Why would new bands cause the discontinuation of the link bracelet model?

Perhaps Apple are allocating the watches themselves to the new bands, rather than making them available to the link bracelets?

Good point. I'm hoping we have confirmation this week if a Keynote will happen or not. Either way, Watch bands seems likely with all the current constraints. Even in stores, It's very constrained.

I hope we at least see some new color variations for the woven nylon. I keep trying to find one of these magical sales that people see at Walmart where they get priced at ~$13.

Must be some kind of band mix - maybe the link band is getting an update or new variant and that's one of the reasons it's out of stock. Seems kind of odd though because it's been pretty hard to find anything here in Denmark as well - one would think the sales numbers could be even better with them easier available

I really wanted to order the rose gold watch they show on their page with the nylon band. The watch isn't available but the band is. I ordered the band and went onto the BestBuy site and ordered a rose gold watch and I'll have the same exact watch that is no longer available on the Apple store. It cost $50 more to do it this way but I'll have that watch.

And a sports band as well I gues? Great for working out etc.

Of course. That nylon band is not for all occasions just as a white band isn't.

The Nylon band certainly is not for all occasions, especially for fitness. They absorb water and sweat, and if they need to be cleaned thoroughly. But I do like them and their well-made from Apple.

I just got an email from BestBuy saying that the watch I ordered has been delayed and is expected to ship by April 11 and that they refunded my shipping. I'm calling as soon as they open to cancel the order. I wanted the rose gold watch but I'm not going to wait that long. Disappointing to say the least.

The Apple website is offline, I'll see what they have in store when it opens.

But they've cut the watch options quite a bit, link bracelets gone unless you buy them individually...

Yeah my mum was planning to get rose gold/midnight blue strap and that option is now gone. Looks like she won't be buying directly from Apple.

BestBuy still says my Rose gold watch has been picked up by UPS this morning. They gave me a tracking number but of course, it's too early for anything to show on the UPS site yet. They did refund my shipping cost since it was supposed to be overnighted. BestBuys site still shows that it's being prepared for shipping. I know their site updates late in the day to show shipping.

Oh the struggles of getting a watch that Apple no longer sells.
