I prefer Tonido. I currently have Tonido installed on my sheevaplug... or you can buy a tonidoplug. The advantage of going w/ a sheevaplug over a pogoplug is that you can customize it and add a variety of options.
 
Mind you 'proper' NAS drive's are getting cheaper and cheaper

Must admit I really love my NAS just stick everything on it dont worry about compressing etc and share stream to everything including desktops laptops ps3 xboxs etc

With Raid 5 and a hotspare gives a decent level of protection should a disk fail.
