Does the case affect the signal?? As normally carbon fiber kinda blocks signals

No, not at all. I'm surprised myself I got the same signal bars at home, work, and other places.

This is what Evutec says on this case in regards to the cellular signal:
"DuPont Kevlar is lightweight and extraordinarily strong, with five times the strength of steel on an equal-weight basis and it does not block your cellular signal."

I really like the Karbon S a lot!! It's my everyday case for now. I have clear film on top and bottom where the opening is to prevent scratches and scuffs. It's so thin and nice to hold on the hands.

I didn't know that the box opens so easily by just separating the front-piece and back-piece of the box. At first, I thought I bought one that was returned because normally there's a seal holding the box.

When you purchased the Karbon S, was there a seal tape holding the box?

The boxes aren't sealed.

I exchanged my SP for another one with a shell that doesn't have any fit issues.

The edge of the rubber bumper does bow out a bit at the top and bottom, and it does lift my screen protector a bit on one edge if pressed.

It's a nice case, but I've got two weeks to decide if I might want to go in a completely different direction (like a Vaja).

The SP...

I hate cases and I had gone case-less since the iPhone 5 launch... Yesterday I had to do an out of warranty exchange on my iPhone 5 due to water damage. Having just wasted a bunch of money on the exchange I wanted to check out some cases so I could keep the resale value up on this new one since its basically just a short-term solution until the 6...

Found this thread and subsequently bought this case (Karbon S) when I went in for the exchange. I know this case doesn't offer much in the way of protection, but at least it will keep back and edges from rubbing off, baring another freak accident... it should be enough.

But anyway, I love it. It keeps the profile of the phone the same, and while I love the bare texture/feel of the iPhone 5... the feel of this is just as good, but in a different way. I guess I'd describe it as grippy, solid feeling with a softish matte carbon-fiber feeling texture.

I sort of wish I had tried on the Karbon SP also, that looks like a good choice too; however, I think I probably still would have gone with the Karbon S for the thinness.

Never thought I'd get an iPad case, but if they come out with a version for the iPad Air, I'll probably pick it up.

Sorry for the poor quality pictures... They're from an iPad and the room i'm in has bad lighting.

It proved plenty of protection. My wife threw mine face down on the concrete floor at a restaurant today and the phone surveyed without a scratch. The case had some damage that just cleaned up with water. I love this case and I hate cases. It makes the phone feel like its case less.

I picked it up today a the Apple store. I currently have the leather black Apple case that is starting wear etc. The Karbon S snap on feels and looks great. Sure it provides less protection then the Apple case but look at all the people that don't have a case at all. It does have some lip on top so you can lay it on its face. I also have the power support clear protector on the front with no issue. I like how it doesn't attract fingerprints etc. So far this is my favorite case yet and I have tried 100s.

Sorry I mean if the rubber part around the lightning port is flimsy or weak.
Also do you use with screen protector

Im using the single piece snap case so there is no rubber part.

it works fine with the power support screen protector.

One more thing for those if u with both the s and the sp can u tell me is the shell in the S thicker than the shell in the SP ? I seen the sp in store and it was thin but I'm not sure how the S is.
Thanks

So i went to apple tried on the sp and the s and I left with the s case the snap on case is amazing , pretty much the best I've had. Pairs with my glass screen shield great

Any hints as to these coming to the UK at all? I'm stuck for a new slim case and fancy the Karbon S, but no joy with Apple stores here.

I wish the S would have the powerbutton covered, the SP does but it haven't got the thinness I'm after. I need to have the powerbutton covered, so I can prevent it from rattling like a snake. Anyone knows about a thin case with powerbutton covered? I'm currently using the apple leather case, but want to see if I can find something thinner.

I purchased this slim carbon fiber snap case for the 5s at the Apple store and so far I really like it. It is supposedly made from DuPont Kevlar fibers and is stronger than steel for the same thickness. I would agree that it is well made and strong. This case feels like it would be hard to break and it has a nice soft touch coating. It's a great minimal case for those of you that don't like cases or those that just want a very thin case. It goes on easy, but it is hard to remove. It's very durable though. It covers the back and sides, the top and bottom are exposed. I also got the two piece one, (rubber / carbon fiber mix). See them here...

Totally agree with this poster. Great fit, nice soft touch coating, no flex design. Karbon fiber looks great and has had no dedgration of phone, wireless or Bluetooth signals. Maintains the thin feeling of the iPhone "native," case free appearance and feel. Thin minimal design makes for easy enter/exit pocket carriers like myself. After a week of use, very please with the purchase.

Nice alternative between the Karbon S and my leather Vaja Grip snap case for an occassional change of looks. Worthy contender if your looking for a minimal, thin design. Highest reco!

I appreciate the experiences and feedback but I could not go for the S in the Apple store. The top and bottom being exposed does not sit well with me. I have Apple's leather case that I prefer.

Well I ended up getting the black S yesterday at an Apple store after trying it on my 5s and after reading more reviews elsewhere which were all very positive.

I swear the 5s feels so great with it, so light and comfortable. It is quite nice looking as well IMHO.

It ain't cheap in comparison to others but this company has a winner. With highest recommendation!

Do u protect the top and bottom with anything ? Also why does the wood version have more coverage in the top ?

I looked at the S yesterday while in the apple store and for the life of me I don't see the appeal of this case. Sharp edge on the bottom, way over priced.
