OH MY GOD!!!
I think I see a tablet in the background.
And the iPhone Nano.
And the new iMac.
And the new Mac Mini
And the new Mac Pro.
And the new netMacbook.

i'm only fifteen and i like the Gene Wilder version of willie wonka and the chocolate factory over the one with johnny depp:D

on another note, anyone else think he is quite tasty?;)

I've had a crush on Ivesy (what I call him) for quite some time. And hearing him speak just makes me melt. :D

Oh, and um... really looking forward to that documentary too! ;)
Only thing sexier than Ivesy is the thought of getting a sneak peek into behind-the-scenes at Apple!

Reading the tea leaves here, this interview was done a week ago, after all the Jobs drama had unfolded. I feel like this unprecedented access to the executive team of Apple is a conscious effort by them to start getting some of their "next in line" out in front of the cameras and to start to build some cult of personality around them as natural successors to Jobs.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but if we next get a "day in the life of Phil Schiller" or "Cooking up software with Tim Cook" as a news puff piece in the next few months, mark these words

Okay, since you are serious... let me help you. Using your mouse, click and drag over the words you want to know about. In this case, "oompa loompa". Once you have the words highlighted, right click on the highlighted words (if you have a 3 button mouse), or "control-click" to get a pop-up menu. From the pop-up menu choose "Search in Google" and it will take you to a webpage full of links to websites that contain the information you're looking for. Google is a very popular web search application that you should get to know how to use. Okay... go ahead and try it. Now wasn't that easy? Let me know if you need more help.

Calm down clever clogs!

If you've haven't seen this guy's documentary "Helvetica," I recommend it, it's pretty fascinating. The Wilco one is great, too. I'll see this new documentary for sure, and not just because of the Apple stuff!

The display in the background looks like it could be a prototype of an Cinema Display. This could be a replacement of the 30-in Cinema display and might have a touch-screen on it. (by looking at the size of the buttons and knowing the fact that companies are offering a touch screen upgrade for the new 24-in)

Apple might be putting in a touch screen to eliminate the need to hire another company to do so. Also, Apple needs to offer the Matte option for the Unibody MacBook displays like they are offering it for the new 17-in MBP.

I know what Oompa Loompas are. I just thought that there would be a running joke among Apple fans or something...like PowerBook G5 and "snappy" and ridiculous things like that.

What I meant, I guess was, what do oompa loompas mean in the Apple fantasy world? I think...

Oh and by the way, I am 19 years old. Thanks.

The point of the "oompa loompa" comment was referring to the usual secrecy that Apple places on their creative and design areas in much the same way that no one knew that the oompa loompas existed in WW&TCF whose inner workings were shrouded in secrecy. There was no "specific" meaning in MacLand of the oompas.

Silly guy, thats the control panel for that machinery!!!

I wonder if there are any unreleased products hiding in the shot. Amazing if some confirmation of a tablet or next-gen design was caught.
My father works in a secure facility (classified) and when they allowed families in once (and only once) everyone had to clean their offices of anything classified and lock it up the day before. I'm sure Apple is the same way.

It is hard to tell. There is alot of dust on it.
Nope, it's just a Fadel vertical machining center control panel.

Yeah I kinda got it now after reading through the thread. People thought I was asking what the oompa loompas were. One member even went through a huge amount of trouble to teach me how to use google. So helpful!
