I think ouimetnick is looking for fair coverage.

Why weren't the iPhone 6 and XR fires I mentioned above covered?
I can't be sure we even saw those, and there's certainly news that we just don't come across. Especially super local stuff. I definitely haven't seen either before.

Edit: Here are times that we did cover Apple things catching on fire:

Kind of overreacting to a small fire. Evacuating passengers using the slides was unnecessary.
Getting passengers off the plane so they don't get sick from inhaling the smoke from the battery fire isn't a good idea?

Passengers were evacuated from the plane via the evacuation slides “due to hazy conditions inside the cabin," and two of were treated at a local hospital, the spokesperson said. A Twitter user who said they were on the flight described the cabin as “like a smoke machine.”

History is repeating itself. This is where it begins…

Looks like Crapsung did not learn their lesson. They’re always having issues with the cell phones getting caught on fire 🔥
Every device that has a lithium ion battery in it is a potential fire hazard, iPhones have caught fire and so have Bolts and Tesla’s… just saying

If it was an iPhone, it would be a worldwide news story, class action lawsuits, and batterygate hashtags.
For Samsung, it’s just Tuesday.
Actually on the flip side if it was an iPhone we would ask if there was an aftermarket battery replacement or if the owner uses an aftermarket phone charger

let’s accord the same energy to this scenario too

Exaggeration much?
Not so much…

mmm

Yikes. I’m glad it didn’t happen mid-flight. 🙏🏻
True.

This guy typing away while leaving must’ve thought “figures he didn’t use an iPhone hehehe” /s

Sarcasm aside very happy nobody was hurt nor missing (downed plane). I don’t wish that nor ever want that for anybody.

Just feeling silly when I saw the 3rd pic in the first Twitter post

Seems like a slow news day. Hopefully just an isolated incident. I’m sure MacRumors will report an iPhone 12 or iPhone 13 fire… right?
you must be new here.
macrumors reports on nearly EVERY SINGLE PROBLEM with the iPhone 12.

Wow…here we go again. Why would u just not buy an iPhone? It boggles the mind….I think the reason is that smartphones are so important to people’s lives that they would rather suffer with a galaxy then admit they were wrong about such an important purchase….btw I hate getting that puke green text back.
What an arrogant attitude.

Believe it or not, there are people who chose not to have an iPhone. Just because _you_ don't like/approve of someone else's choice doesn't make you right.

Oh, and before you ask: I am an iPhone user and choose not to own a Samsung phone. Many of my Samsung-owning friends are more than happy with their phones.

Because Samsungs are good phones? And maybe you should seek counseling for your green text bubble issue.

These Samsungs are straight fire!
Lol nicely done with the play unto words.

Imagine ur flight got delayed because of stupid Crapsung phone getting caught on fire. How annoying is that?

Samsung has been making phones since 1988!! They’ve been using unification for parts of their smartphones since they launched the Samsung Innov8 S60 smartphone. It was very advanced in its day didn’t sell well but it was to showcase advances for all their sub-divisions.

I’m VERY curious if all these phones going on fire, the ones made by Samsung seem to be much much more prevalent than any other manufacturer. Since most maniacs tires source the battery to various others, I wonder if Samsung, internally is cutting corners either with battery or charging components within the phones chipset that is a precursor to these Samsung phone boomba ??!

The Galaxy A21 is roughly less than $200. Let me know when Apple starts selling iPhones at that price range.

Don’t forget to add VW to the party. Although Tesla uses Panasonic Modules. VW and Chevy use LG. Not Samsung.

IMO, Panasonic Li-ion Modules are the safest from a QC point of view.
