Oh my what a mess. :/

The file is the original one created on my Mac. I have made copies of the file in the past to transfer for printing, but I did not take a copy of that file and put it back on my Mac and replace the original if that is what anyone is wondering.

I mentioned the memory stick because I was just wondering if it is possible for stuff to get on my Mac from the PC via the stick when I plug it in.

As I said I know the viruses won't hurt my Mac, but I was just wondering if they were lying dormant, able to spread to other PC's from my Mac.

Like, ever seen the movie 28 Days later? How the mother was immune to the virus? Think of her as the lone Mac in a city full of PC's. She was able to still spread the virus even though she was immune. Would that be the case with me? Can I spread viruses to PC users even though the viruses won't run on my Mac or hurt it?

If you receive an infected file from a Windows user, yes, you can forward it to other Windows computers. The Windows malware will lie dormant on your Mac and cannot infect other files on your Mac. The only way it can spread to another computer is if you manually transfer it to another computer. However, as you said, the original file was created on your Mac, so it cannot be infected.

Ah, okay. :)

I was just trying to figure out how it was the website for this place came to hate my file.

Also, I'm a girl. I saw a lot of he's and other masculine words in this thread. lol :p

GGJ I stand corrected.

Have you taken the original file and had it virus scanned yet just to be sure?

I have several servers that scan for viruses on uploaded files and text files simply don't get caught. I have had a few documents that had macros get flagged but never a simple text document. You could also try saving the file in a different format like plain text or rtf to see if that server will accept it.
