Indulgent is spending $450 for just a deployant clasp for an IWC or $4,000 for a replacement bracelet for a Rolex Submariner. Welcome to the world of horology (and apparently Apple products).
Not sure were your numbers are coming from. My new 93150 bracelet was $1250 directly from RSC.

Just happened to be looking for one for my two tone Sub the other day. Either way, just a bracelet costs more than the entire Apple Ultra.

18K would account for a higher number. However; Chrono24 or C & C are usually much higher than authorized channels. But yes, still much more expensive than an AU.

I got an ultra on day of release and haven’t even opened the band yet. I bought an elastic rainbow one from eBay for about £8.50 for two and it’s fantastic. Had more comments about it than the watch! Don’t waste your money on Apple bands.

You'll want OEM.

None of them are.

You get what you pay for.
You do get what you pay for, but OEM is not it in my case.

I bought an Apple Watch SE with the Solo Loop and the band cracked and failed after about 14 months. The replacement band (bought on Amazon for $8) fits and feels almost exactly the same and has lasted 4 months so far with no issues. On a dollar-for-dollar basis, it'll be cheaper to buy these even if it fails tomorrow.

Your mileage may vary with regard to fit or taste, but if it's a question of performance for the dollar, OEM was not the answer for me.

So whoever said I was going to end up buying an Apple Watch Ultra, well you won the jackpot -- the imaginary jackpot, that is. :) LOL.

Yes, so I did end up buying one! The other day, I went to the Apple Store curious to see how the Ultra looks and feels like and also what the AirPods Pro 2 works like. I absolutely did not enter the Store with any inkling that I was going to want the Ultra. In fact, I thought I might want the APP2.

I have a Series 4 Watch and from what I could read online, including reviews, the Ultra has some new features but they did not seem to wow me that much. I tried on the Ultra and played around with it and I was seriously starting to think about upgrading. It took me several days to ponder over that and I did end up with an Ultra with the Alpine Loop. Recognizing that this was an indulgent purchase, I told my partner so :)

So to pay $800 for the following upgrade is quite something:
- getting a 3rd button to mark laps/segments
- better battery life
These were the 2 features that I really liked when I tested the watch, and yes, paying THAT much just for those two features is rather indulgent.

But I've also come to like additional features that I didn't have before including:
- better sleep monitoring
- additional "fun" metrics for running and other health measures like stair ascent and descent, etc.

All in all, this was truly an indulgent purchase but I suppose since I work so many dang hours, a little bit (or a lot) of indulgence is ok. Heh :)

So far, I have really enjoyed using my Ultra. I have the Alpine Loop (small) which works alright. My Series 4 has the Sports Loop which is essentially the same as the Trail Loop offered for the Ultra line with some relatively insignificant differences. I thought I could use my Sports Loop with my Ultra. Well, it does technically slot in to the Ultra and works fine, but somehow the Sports Loop I have now is too long when combined with the Ultra! The end of the tail shoots just under 1/2 an inch above the watch face. When I use the Sports Loop with the Series 4, I don't have this problem although the tail end is almost beyond the portion that it can velcro into. I guess I have small wrists.

The Trail Loop/Sports Loop probably does fit a little more comfortably because within a range, it is "infinitely" adjustable. But, it's ugly. It looks ugly.

So anyone have recommendations for third party Ultra watch bands? I know there are plenty out there but which ones are reputable? I don't want a band that suddenly breaks and the Watch falls off -- a Watch that was $800 of indulgence. =)
I like oem. The feel is different. If it’s a knock off and cost 20 it’s probably not worth it. I really am a fan of the leather link and I’m looking to buy additional colors. My California poppy band have been my favorites.

I initially wasn’t going to get the ultra. The way they advertised it, it didn’t seem like anything I would want/need. After seeing it in person I was more interested. It’s hard to get in my area and the wait was all the way in November at some stores. I was on the phone with AT&T and the rep said I could have one in 2 days…I placed my order.

So far I like it. I love the large screen although it covers my small wrist, and I am excited about the longer battery life. I have the star light band. I’ll probably add more bands as they become available. This band is interesting, not real easy to put on or take off.

I want one for the size and the battery life. I do like how the cellular option is built into one device. I wonder if they will eventually do that for all of their devices.

I am happy with mine so far.
Added a wide-ish metal band (which used to reside on my analogue Tommy Hilfiger watch) to it yesterday as I was in a suit visiting clients.
Looked pretty good.
Back to my Orange Alpine loop today as working from home. It's warmer today, so have gone out one loop, makes it a little more comfortable as my wrist swells. .

I haven’t used an Apple Watch since the first one. I wasn’t interested in watch ultra but seeing in store made all the difference. Ordered mine with midnight ocean band. Hurry up end of the October. Now my BLNR will get some rest.

Nice :) Hope you enjoy your new Watch! I love using mine! I especially love the long(er) battery life. It enables me to listen to music while I run without having to worry about battery life for the day and with juice left for sleep tracking.

Not sure why people like the trail loop other than the weight? Looks like 1970’s cheap carpet lol.
That’s an interesting description and when I think about it, I can see where this is coming from. Indeed, does look like strips of carpet sample. Lol.

I have the sports loop for my Series 4 and while it is comfortable, is it ugly. I tell my husband that it looks like the kind of Velcro strap that kids wear when first learning to wear a watch. Lol.

I mean I was trying to be funny with my response. In all seriousness it looks and feels like a $50 band. As another poster said people are free to buy what they want (no judgement), but was just giving my opinion on the band itself and what it looks like to me. Hope you enjoy it!

I like the humor :) I mean, I find it funny too that for 4 years I wore the sports loop which from pretty much day one I found ugly but practical. I didn’t like the silicone bands, couldn’t justify the Milanese band or the leather ones which neither are good for sweaty wrists when exercising, so sports loop it was! Lol. Comfy ugly, maybe like Christmas sweater.
