Did anyone else think the stock was going to jump after the split? its been doing absolutely nothing.

hopefully after the iPhone 6 and iWatch is announced it will pop.

Were you not satisfied with the run up prior to the split?

Yeah, it has been flat or slightly down since the split. However I'm not concerned.

Of course I was satisfied I was under the impression thag by dropping the stick to $90 there would be many more investors and therefor drive the price even higher.

AAPL's average volume is 64 million shares per day, you really think those investors who buy 2-3 shares is going to add much?

I think people who invest are purchasing more than 2-3 shares and when you multiply that number by a million, yes.

Why wouldn't they buy at $630? What exactly is the difference? $90 now has the exact valuation at $630 three weeks ago.

Yes but if someone had $1000 to invest 3 weeks ago you could only buy 1 share for 630 and couldn't invest the 370 in AAPL. Now you can buy 11 shares at 90 and only have an extra $10 left over.

But you only gain the 3 shares from your example. And obviously there is no jump after the split.

Hence the reason for my original post from yesterday. I would have thought there would have been a jump after the split.

You would think that, as would any inexperienced investor. Your thought process "makes sense", but that's not how it works. That's what everyone is trying to say. Yes, volume of stocks is important, but $1,000 is $1,000 no matter how you cut it.

take is easy warren buffett, i have mad a lot of money investing ... I'm sure my portfolio speaks for itself, i am far from an inexperienced investor.

it "makes sense" because it is true. more people can invest when the shares are cheaper.

let's take the stock symbol "BRK-A". it closed on friday at 190,559.00. Most investors they cannot even purchase 1 share. if the stock split they could and there would be more people investing in the company.

I'm not going to get into the pre-spit, post-split debate, but either way, I'm not expecting any significant changes to AAPL until the iPhone 6 and/or iWatch announcement, barring an announcement from some other company that could seriously affect Apple's sales.

Agreed. I think it will mostly move sideways with maybe a small increase.

AAPL is getting very close to its all time high, maybe it will break 100 today. Did everyone pick up more shares over the past year when the stock was very low? It is surely paying off now. :apple:

I'm just keeping an eye on it now, it feels like that $100 mark is a bit of a milestone, once its broken i'd of thought it would rise a bit easier. Be nice to break $100 before the iPhone 6 (and maybe other products) are released :apple:
