Probably because it's Apple related, and this site is about Apple related news/rumors/etc. Isn't it great though thst it's just easy to read the things that interest us and skip over the ones that don't? It doesn't even take any effort.

Is Michael Fassbender, the younger Magneto, from the X-Men franchise?

Sorkin also reveals in the new interview that the character of Jobs' daughter Lisa will play a major role as the "heroine" of the film.

So in "real life" Lisa played almost no role in Jobs' life during his/Apple's formative years, aside from the fact he name a failed computer after her. So she is going to play a major role in shaping Jobs' life in the movie?

It's not a documentary and not a re-inactment, it's a movie based on a real story/person.

What's that? Movie makers are still trying to cash in on Steve Jobs' death? Give it up you dumb, unimaginative, talentless losers, just give it up.

Consider it a complement no mater what is made. I'm still looking for a stoner comedy version of the Apple story. I wonder how a drug dog would react if one ever smelled an Apple One.

so, about 100 pages are just on him ?

I'm sure there are many movies that probably would focus on the main character too..

Maybe no one liked the script ? That may have been a better way of saying it.

Or maybe everyone saw "Jobs", and judged on how the second movie with "Steve" would be on that

How about an 80's action movie? Steve Jobs is a POW in vietnam when he has a vision of Apple Computers, and then breaks out and goes half a world away to make it.

When employees don't do what he says he shoots them with an m60

Lisa was never at NeXT, say maybe twice and once before leaving to Princeton, so making her the heroine is way out in left field. She most certainly wasn't around either for the Apple 2.0 days.
Good observation. That actually shows how much we are assuming what the movie is about. Sorkin's script is not just about backstage conversations of Jobs before the product announcement. That is just the canvass. Those three product announcements span almost 20+ years of Jobs' life.

There is a lot to cover. Sorkin's challenge is not what to include but what to leave out and still tell a compelling and entertaining story.

The tidbit about Lisa makes it even more intriguing which throws the scope and direction of the movie wide open. Just like Apple's product announcements a certain amount of suspense and surprise is good.

Frankly, I'd prefer to watch a Ken Burns style show about Jobs, because I think Burns work showcasing people and things that have effected the greater human population would be closest to doing Jobs justice for what he's done for the population.

My feelings EXACTLY. A really in depth, well researched, neutral documentary about his life would be amazing.

My next choice would be this one:

Like to see Cheech and Chong do Jobs and Woz in a stoner comedy doing the Apple story.

oh please don't make this movie.

Too late. The crap machine is already running, and its masters salivating the money. Brace yourself for an over-dramatized Sorkin movie about a very rich, intelligent and influential d-bag that wouldn't recognize his own daughter.

You are welcome!

Leo's still fishing for his oscar. The way to get that is to play a historical figure.
The fact that he dropped out worries me...

By the way> Am I the only one thinking Daniel Day Lewis....

DIcaprio never dropped out, because he never said yes in the first place... Unlike Bale.
And this is very common in the film industry. Producers and directors are usually in talk with various actors for the lead role, yet only one will be playing it.

You have no idea how close you are describing the early Apple retreats in Lake Tahoe before they were kicked out.

So unimaginative people! The whole thingmight be based on those moments because Jobs mentioned them on his deathbed. He might have mentioned them as his greatest moments, and his treatment of Lisa as his worst failure. From there you have a dialog to weave through the 3 announcements, chock full of pov from Lisa, both an insider and an outsider, as well as the only one to comment on the failure. Someone close enough to know truths but not caught up in the hype. I would imagine the whole movie to provide an interesting structure to provide flashbacks to any point in his life deemed interesting, without requiring the rigid structure of a blow by blow biography. Those moments are up to debate and lost to time in many ways, where the announcements are likely well documented and less subjective. Leave the subjective memories for the flashbacks.

My simple question is this: How many people are interested in these three scenes?

You are taking the 3 product launches format too literally... This movie will focus on 3 product launches the way Slumdog Millionaire was focused on one episode of Who wants to be a millionaire and the way The social network was focused on a single legal deposition.

I imagine each segment starting with Steve preparing to talk, and thinking back to relevant points in his life up to each product launch point.

They have also stated that is would be three 30 minute segments but it is much more likely that the movie will be at least 2 hrs long.

Also, there seem to be a lot of people here who have no idea how common it is for movies to change lead actors multiple times before filming. This happens all the time in movies that ended up being a huge success.

Is no one familiar with Aaron Sorkin or Danny Boyle's work??

This movie will focus on 3 product launches the way Slumdog Millionaire was focused on one episode of Who wants to be a millionaire and the way The social network was focused on a single deposition hearing.

I know them very well. Thought both were tedious and overhyped

I don't know about him but I rather like the idea of using a more or less unknown. Keeps things from getting muddled by every little thing happening in the stars life. Nothing more annoying than press articles about how the star just broke up with girlfriend and what it might mean for movie

I agree. I always wondered why none of these films include the iPhone launch. That's the product that most Apple fans of today are most familiar with.

Yep, it also is what made Apple the Most Valuable Company In The World.

I agree, especially since it seems like they are still deciding on film details with all these news items about it.

The iPhone launch is just so important in the Apple history timeline.

Funny thing, I'm using DeviantArt while reading MacRumors and specifically your reply, and it seems I coincidentally found myself at your profile with Yosemite Inverted (Dark Mode) Folder Icon. Same screen name. :p

I hope the movie will be interesting with some new prospective... not all of the news we already know...
