Some people appreciate privacy and don't want their late loved one portrayed in a movie. How dense are you, dude?
Is that the case here? And in paticular with very public figures that are essentially in the public domain?

Ironic. The same could be said to you, but I would not because it's pretty obvious.:)

How's that ironic that I read the articles and comment on the articles and comment on other people's comments? You should just scroll on pass hunny.

To say no role is too much, I mean they released The Lisa as a computer.... Have you even read the book?!?! Emotionally, it took a toll on him. She was very important to his story and the person he is... I mean he rejected his own daughter?

So she is very important to him because he rejected his daughter? That kinda proves my point. He rejected her and was therefore not really important. I don't know how many people around these parts think their kids are very important then disown them.

It's not a documentary and not a re-inactment, it's a movie based on a real story/person.

But should have some actual "truth" in it I would imagine.

Did you miss the first part of my post??? Seriously read the book. You are missing so much. I would rather not get into why you think things aren't important, she was to him.

Yes, they reconnected and she lived with him in her teens. He had almost NOTHING to do with her other than naming a computer after her during her childhood years. So if you still think she was important to him, then that is your opinion and you can hold that. I have a different definition of "important" than you are using to describe Jobs' and Lisa's relationship.

I've cared for sneakers much better. Just sayin'.

Perhaps whatever it was in him that drove him to reject her was always there driving him in everything else, and that rejection was always at the foundation of it and consciously or unconsciously affected most of his decisions and accomplishments. Seems like a rather important underlying tone to it all.

Aaron Sorkin on Jobs Biopic: Casting Announcement Imminent, 'Heroine' Will Be...

I think the Jobs family is perfectly capable of speaking for themselves if they don't want movies made. You really think you speak for them?

Yes, perhaps it could be an underlying tone. But Hollywood has been known to be revisionist in biopics.

Probably because it's Apple related, and this site is about Apple related news/rumors/etc. Isn't it great though thst it's just easy to read the things that interest us and skip over the ones that don't? It doesn't even take any effort.
It's not really Apple related either; it's about Steve Jobs' life, so anything about Apple will be largely historic. Aside from some possible insights into what it's like to work at Apple this film is of little to no relevance at all, yet it's been filling up the front-page for months with continual non-stories of the nature "X may in the film!", they're pointless.

Also, by your logic it would be just as easy for these stories to go into the other news section where people who actually care and go and read them. Rather than me seeing a new news story on the site, going to look, only to find it's not in the least bit interesting.

So then by that logic spending time commenting on this in threads where people who are actually interested in it are discussing it seems meaningful and useful somehow, and doesn't in turn waste the time of those people who don't care about reading comments from those who don't care and basically don't have anything to say?

Not caring is something to say, especially when the damned stories are bogging down the front-page despite containing largely no information. I wouldn't mind so much if it had just been stories of substance about the movie, but most of them are just parroting of casting speculation from other sites, which is not really news.

I know some of the Mac/iOS related "news" gets a bit rumour centric, but at least these are things that people visiting Mac Rumors should definitely be interested in, and any speculation is usually backed up with known hardware parts, release roadmaps etc.

But I heard recently that people can just skim past my posts if they want to, because apparently that's better than not having them be there in the first place.

Saying stuff in threads like this makes no difference as people who are in these threads aren't the ones posting the stories or controlling anything here. All it does it add more junk that people who are interested in the topic don't care about seeing that and it actually doesn't habe much to do with the topic itself. Seems like a good amount of hypocrisy is involved in all that "logic".
