I will attempt to resist but I know it will almost surely be futile.

I'll get caught up in all the MR hype as always and will order ASAP as with the 4S and the iPad. The new mini will be next if it actually materialises.

Got some Apple stock so it's a lot easier to convince the wife that I'm helping the stock price by buying more Apple toys! Whether I need them or not is totally irrelevant. That is unless the stock tanks for some obscure reason in the run up to the phone hitting the shelves.

You don't get the "wow" factor from people if your'e on the "S cycle". You never get to walk around with something people haven't seen already. When I got a 3GS, it was MUCH better than the 3G. When I got a 4, it KILLED the 3GS.. When I got a 4S.. I didn't feel any different. If I could go back, I'd save the $700 I spent on the phone. I feel like the "5S", if it comes to be, will be more of the same, and I will likely not be getting it.

Unless the S cycle starts adding some dramatic new features, I'll be staying away from it from now on.

Do you really care what other people think about your phone?!

Haha cute thread.

Interesting replies!

Dude, I know how you feel!!! I loved my iP4 for the 20/24 months I had it, I bypassed the upgrade to the 4S because it didn't tempt me. Then out of the damn blue, media presented me with something new and SHIINNNEY!

My GS3. AND despite how much I ENJOY and really LIKE the device, I am still excited about the iP5 even though I know I won't be buying it!! If I hadn't bought this phone, I would be feeling like you are now!

Tempted!!!

If I was still rockin my iP4 and the next upgrade had LTE and 4G speed, I would have a hard time sticking to my guns.

This might sound strange to some people but I'm feeling this way about my 4 too. I've got no complaints about my 4 except that its getting outdated. Sometimes I feel I could go another year with my 4 but I like having new technology so I'm gonna definitely get the new iPhone.

Anyone else feel this way?

The iPhone 4S is pretty much perfect for me. Good size, speed, screen quality, jailbroken w/ gaming emulators, will get apple maps navigation in iOS 6... So why do I feel this compelling need to upgrade to the new iPhone coming out?

Because iPhone users start to see people with the latest model and they become envious. ;)

My 4S is perfect for me and it literally looks flawless like it was just unboxed (I even have a charge port cover) and I'm definitely not upgrading. My 4S is fast, reliable, jail broken and yeah, it looks like a 4, but I could care less.

I like doing the every 2 year thing, and my 4S is my first iPhone, so im going to enjoy it til the...5S?

I am excited to see people running around with the new 5 though, and yeah I'll prob be a little jealous. But I just don't need a new phone every year.

I had planned to give my wife my 4S and use her upgrade to buy the 5. No dice, she doesn't want the iPhone at all (weird right?).

My 4S is mint, so even I have a hard time considering the upgrade. Maybe if I sold if for a decent amount, I would go for it, but its a little late now.:(

Upgrading to keep up with the Jones' is silly.

If one doesn't "feel it" and sticks with what they have, there is nothing wrong with that.

A little late for what?

Generally, the price difference between selling an iPhone a few weeks before a launch and a few weeks after a launch is only a few dollars.

I certainly don't but an awful lot of people do. It's not just a tool for the job but a fashion accessory for some. Nothing wrong with that in my eyes.

It's not even just that.. It's fun to show off the new features to all your friends, in my opinion. The S cycle never really gets new features.. Siri was a cool trick for a week I suppose..
