I found an abandoned hotel by my house, and am really curious to see what's inside, and found an opening, my question is would you do the same thing? It's been abandoned for 30 years and nobody that I have talked to ever really realized it was there.

Now, me and my friend were walking past it, we found the opening, and were just about to go inside it because we saw a pool that looked pretty awesome to mess around in. If you were me, would you go in there or would you not?

I am sure it would be considered trespassing
And dangerous too, if it has been abandoned that long

Do it :)

Just be safe, it could be structurally unsound and is bound to have sometype of poisonous bug in there :p

I love abandoned places. They are absolutely fascinating.
If you decide to go in, step lightly and be extremely careful.
And definitely DO NOT GET LOST in there.

I don't understand how a structure could be there for 30 years and no one know of it.

There's an old abandoned nursing home around here that's been closed for about 20 years. Most people don't know it's there because it's hidden behind trees and a gate and unless you're specifically looking for it, you'll never see it when driving by. There's a legend surrounding it that it's haunted and high school kids always sneak in but many get busted for trespassing.

If it has been abandoned for 5 years, maybe. After 30 years, who knows? It could be structurally doomed, have a family of criminally homicidal vagrants living inside, or whatever.

I read a lot of "urban exploration" forums. That kind of thing fascinates me to no end.

But please follow the mantra of urban explorers: "Take only pictures. Leave only footprints." In other words, don't go in there and smash every piece of glass you can find and spray paint crap on the walls, or steal stuff.

Yes, please take lots of pictures! there was a special on G4 about urban explorers, it was pretty interesting.
