I already mentioned it but, for anybody that this sort of activity excites, should visit the official Action Squad site. It won't disappoint! ;)

Props to TSE for observing the creed!

Thanks for this link. I have lost half a day now reading all the adventures and looking at all the pictures! Awesome!

Anyone interested in Urban Exploration should definitely check out 28 Days Later - UK Urban Exploration Forums. One of the busiest and best sites I've seen dedicated to such activities.

Last summer, my cousin and I were at Big Lots, and were riding our bikes around afterwards. We happened to notice the vacant Burlington Coat Factory front doors were open, so we went in.:) The store had only been closed for maybe a year, so it wasn't scary or anything, just cool. The whole place was empty, and the only lights that were on were the emergency ones by the exit, in the bathrooms, and in the back stockroom.
This particular Burlington Coat Factory is in the same building as a Toys "R" Us, so the A/C was running, which made it a cool place to hang out when it's 90 degrees outside. I have a video on Youtube of me riding my bike with a few friends in it. It's dark and taken back when I had my Nokia 6300, so there isn't much to see.

You should watch Life After People on the History Channel to see what happens to buildings that are abandoned for that long.

There's an old abandoned nursing home around here that's been closed for about 20 years. Most people don't know it's there because it's hidden behind trees and a gate and unless you're specifically looking for it, you'll never see it when driving by. There's a legend surrounding it that it's haunted and high school kids always sneak in but many get busted for trespassing.
That must be the "local legend' floating around for every abandoned nursing home/hospital or asylum.. Theres used to be one near my house that had the same haunted legend. I never made it inside, walked up to it once, but that was it. Its weird cause I have had dreams where I went inside, so I almost know what its like which is probably better than the real thing would've been. .

Actually, I guess I have gone inside.. Its not a Target and I've shopped there. :)

I'd say go for it these things can be fun. I've only did it once when i was younger it was also the last time i wanted to explore anything abandoned well after seeing a homeless guy taking a crap into what looked like a coffie jar :( some things will never leave your mind no matter how hard i try to forget lol but its all good tho.

Go for it, but tread lightly and take more than one person with you. Last time I didnt something like this it was in an abandoned pub with a friend... man the cellar was freaky!!

the house next door to me burned in a fire about a year and a half ago and it has yet to be demolished. it is still standing but the roof is gone and it is pretty messed up. me and my brother have gone in and poked around with some hammers and stuff. so go ahead and go in. just don't leave a trace and be careful. you never know what exposed rusty metal and things like that are lying around

My mom attended Dallas High School way back when, that picture sends me the heebie jeebies, because she told me all that went on at her old high school...including about a lady named Ms. Jackson, who was "the meanest P.E teacher in the world."

EDIT: Nevermind, I think the school my mom went to was called "North Dallas High School"...which apparently is still around.
