Hmmm, let's see.... How many horror movies have I seen that started this way. No, better yet, how many of those old reality TV shows like Unsolved Mysteries have I seen like this.

(Booming announcer voice) "It was your typical Saturday in Minnesota when TSE and his friend stumbled onto an abandoned hotel on the edge of town. Satisfying their curiosity and desire to explore the unknown they found a way into the condemned and abandoned building. Little did they know this seemingly innocent adventure would change their lives forever." (Cue the creepy dramatic music)

Well, it was nice knowing you TSE. I'll miss your posts. :p

Let me know if this guy is inside:

Oh, and go at night.

Nonsense, I'll keep an eye on him... ;) :p

I have nothing to add, just posting to subscbribe to the thread to follow along easier

Just above the OP you'll see "Thread Tools", if you click on it you can subscribe to the tread from there :).

And that sounds like a fun experience, I've done a bit of exploring of abandoned places myself with some friends and it is always fun.

Watch where you're putting your hands/feet, and wear some strong soled shoes.

If you've found a way in, that means other people have as well, and there will probably be a whole load of used needles lying around.

Nobody wants the AIDS.

Isn't this how teen-horror-genre movies start? :D

Make sure the survivor (I was going to be optimistic and put survivors, but…) can get back to MacRumors — we'd like details please.

Do it!

Pay attention to how you got in, step carefully, bring a flashlight, your mobile phone, and [random idea] possibly an air horn to scare the pants off anyone who may be squatting in there who is looking to attack you. I swear, a quick blast of that is usually plenty to startle someone just enough for you to get a start running away. Alternatively, if you get yourself stuck under a fallen bit of wall/floor/whatever, someone might hear your horny pleas for help. Or a whistle. (I don't know how big this building is or how far you want to go in)

I'd love to see photos. Mr Anderson had once posted a brilliant group of photos of an abandoned factory a few years back. The URLs don't work anymore though.

I love that sort of thing but do go in calm but carefully.

I quite like going into abandoned buildings and everything Blue said above is good advice.

My advice is if you do go wear a pair of really sturdy boots and watch the hell out for needles.

It is also a good idea to tell one of your mates who isn't with you that you are doing it and when to expect to hear from you again as some old buildings are dodgey as hell.

video it too, with a couple effects you could make it really creepy. almost blair witch it...but better :)

maybe not go in the pool though eh?

If what I read in the PRSI forums is true there is a very good chance that a person living in the building will assume you are a burglar and will righteously shoot to kill apparently in the belief that such action is completely lawful.

And approproately shakey video footage :p

Post pics please :) I love pics of abandoned buildings.

Ever since I decided to ride the Hollywood Tower of Terror, I'm never going in an abandoned building.

This place is about 7 miles from my house. It sits up on the hill overlooking the village, and it's been abandoned for like 20 years. I was inside once, in a baby stroller, and my brother still remembers what it looked like. 'Course, it was much safer back then. Now they're talking about renovating it for office space and a health thing.

Old places are pretty awesome, but you really have to be careful. And never be destructive.

Take photos!

I'd do it ;).
But go with friends so if you get trapped or something then you won't get stuck , die from starvation and slowly rot away with nobody knowing where you went.

Good grief, don't go in there! An abandoned hotel that nobody knows about. Have you not watched any horror films?

I don't understand how a structure could be there for 30 years and no one know of it.

I agree.

I'd go in ... with another person and make sure you both have running shoes on in the event you need to book it.
