I didn't use the fix, so I did the lazy-man's way:

I just forced a complete DFU restore on the 4S, set up as new, and that did the trick. Since 2.0.1 is out, one doesn't have to go to that extreme, but it did work.

I never bothered with 2.0 as 2.0.1 came out before I made the attempt. 2.0.1 worked like a charm. No restoring needed. Just backup your iOS device, and click Jailbreak. Its really that easy.

It's not that easy I have tried both 2.0.1 and 2.0 and neither have worked. It gets tuck half-way though, (waiting for process to complete) going on attempt 6 even tried completely restoring it....twice:mad:

I was finally able to jailbreak the iPhone 4s 16gb. However, on that (and on my iPhone 4S 64GB) there is no Cellular Data option so that I can put in the MMS Settings for Simple Mobile. Is there a fix for this? I've tried the lei mobile repo and no luck. It was able to be unlocked though, FaceTime isn't working either.

well.. finally got it to work.

I used my girlfriend's computer and it worked first shot for mine and hers. Both 16gb 4S. Wouldn't work on my '11 13" Air running 10.7.4 but worked on her '11 11" Air running 10.7.4. Makes no sense to me, but I'm happy anyway :D

iPad 2 (first gen). Updated to 5.1.1 today.

I've tried Settings> General> Reset> Erase All Content and Settings
I've tried numerous restores, including a fresh restore after downloading a fresh ipsw. I've been jailbreaking for 3 years and have never had this problem.

I'm still stuck on "Waiting for reboot - not done yet, don't unplug your device yet!".

It's been that way for HOURS.

Mine just skips over the reboot phase in one second and permanently hangs on waiting for iphone to reboot! This is driving me mad...

Looks like most people are able to get their phones working with this jb. Anyone on a different carrier other than AT&T and has their iPhone 4S Unlocked? Via T-Mobile, Straight Talk or Simple Mobile. I can't get FaceTime to work nor MMS either. Any solutions? MiTime doesn't support OS5

waiting reboot

tried every method and seems not working

still stuck on waiting for reboot

regret upgrading from 5.0.1, luckily i backuped, but not using ipad w/0 jailbreak is a pain

sadface

Mine still stops when it says waiting for process to complete....:( nd that's with 2.0.1

Same issues for me, with both my Verizon Iphone 4, and my Wifi Only Ipad 2. Anybody have any suggestions?

I am not sure what is going on with our phones. I did a factor restore three times..used two different PCS...and still the program stops working. Not sure what else to do.

I have the same problem on my MacBook pro 15" gets stuck on preparing for reboot and nothing. My device just sits there. and I have I tried it on iPod 4rth gen, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4s, ipad1' 2 and 3. Now it works perfectly fine on my 11" MacBook air. I was able to jailbreak all my devices on my air. I do not understand what's going on.

I had the same issue where absinthe 2.0.1 would hang and stop. Then I took the time to read the readme file that came with absinthe 2.0.1:

  1. Make a backup of your device iTunes by right clicking on your device name under the 'Devices' menu and click 'Back Up'.
  2. Once your backup is complete return to your device and go to Settings - General - Reset - Erase All Content and Settings. This will make the jailbreak process much faster.
  3. Open Absinthe and be sure your are still connected via USB cable to your computer.
  4. Click 'Jailbreak' and wait... just be patient and do not disconnect your device!
  5. Once jailbroken return to iTunes and restore your backup from earlier. To do so, right click on your device name under the 'Devices' menu in the left panel of iTunes and click 'Restore From Backup...' then select the latest backup you created before. (restoring this backup will return all the content previously on your device, i.e. apps, photos, etc.)
  6. Thanks for using Absinthe, enjoy your jailbroken iDevice!

Seems like it was an unnecessary step, but it wasn't to hard to do. At least it worked for me.

Thanks erayser, , great advice.I have done everything you have posted.I was able to jailbreak my devices on my MacBook air really fast with no problems but for some reason it will not work on my 15" pro. It works on one computer but it does not on another. It just weird.

Because Apple did a quite update to version iOS 5.1.1 to 9B208 for both GSM AND CDMA and then stopped signing iOS5.1.1 9B206. I have jailbroken since jailbreaking was available and this is the very first time I have been stopped dead cold. Anyone trying to update with a "fresh" copy of 5.1.1 is getting the new and until Green Poison is updated (if it can be) I (we) are tough out of luck:mad::(

Sorted - don't use an old Mac!

Hi guys (and gals),

Just jail breaking all my devices and working fine with a new iPad and 4S on my MacBook Pro (10.7.4).

It was only trying to do the same on my wifes G5 with her iPad 2 that I had the same issue as others are experiencing. No Cydia. Tried three times with the same problem.

I fixed it by jail breaking the iPad 2 on my MacBook Pro - no clean restore - nothing. Just plugged it in and it went straight through. Now she has Cydia and a jail broken device ;-)

well this worked..

Mine (4s 5.1.1 updated today) was also hung up on the waiting for reboot do not disconnect step for over an hour.

I installed sbsettings through cydia while the phone was still plugged in. Rebooted the phone with sb settings and Absinthe completed the jailbreak.

Not sure that was a good idea but it worked ;)
