I don't know if the new keyboard is better. I tried it in the store and didn't like it, but it might just be a learning curve. Thinner screen and smaller logic board *might* come to the 13" to make it marginally thinner, but it's not going to be a huge difference. The gold is the ugliest Mac I've seen since they abandoned beige in the late 90s; the space gray is nice though.
All in all, no reason at all not to buy the 13", but the 15" is a bit long in the tooth for what it costs.
I was DX with stage 4 lung Cancer a few months ago. I decided no more waiting! Skipped the refurbished store, headed to MicroCenter and picked up a brand new 2014, 13 inch Retina, 8Gb, 256GB flash drive and I am thrilled with it, beats my 2011 Air.
Never wait so long for something that you end up with nothing! I am delighted with my new laptop!
Sometimes it is better to get into the end of a product lifecycle rather than in at the very beginning... as the above poster suggested. I just got a top of the line rMPB 15" (free from Apple as the fubared my 17" repair) and it is a pretty amazing machine. Runs much cooler than my 17" for sure - still adjusting to the smaller screen but I am very impressed with this machine so far.
Since no one really knows what Intel or Apple will do at this point, you could be waiting a while if Apple skips Broadwell and then there are Skylake delays etc.
