For some reason, the look on that kitten's face makes me start fuming.

The kitten is also trying to figure out the glue problem.

The glue is what holds the glass to the chassis, instead of the clips used in the first iPad.
it was probably packed and stand vertically or on its side while the glue wasn't dried, after manufacturing process was completed. Or it was under the hot sun for a while, and the glue spilled.

Re how to treat customers.......

The UK Launch is in under 3 days time from now, and they still have not announced the price yet.

This is no way to treat customers is it?

Sorry, but it just comes across as the sign of an Arrogant company.

Astounding. Only one appropriate response. Send it back, get a full refund (protest the charge on your credit card if you must) and go shopping for an Android Tablet.

I'm not being sarcastic. Honestly the war stories of how badly Apple is handling the iPad2 production and launch makes me more than concerned about my April 1 shipdate order. I swear if it comes to me defective, I'm gonna do exactly what I said. I have an iPad1 and Touch I can play with in the meantime. And frankly the ability to use Flash, have expandable memory and a quality camera are MUCH MORE appealing to me than a shoddy product from a too-big-for-its-britches hipster company.

FWIW I do empathize with your fury. Apple is most definitely NOT handling their customer service well right now. Hope the store exchange works for you. If not, return and get a full refund. Punish Apple by not giving them your heard-earned money.

Android tablets are defective by design.

Great news! Went to the store anyway and they gave me a brand new one no problem. They even laughed that the rep gave me an issue.

Thanks everyone :)

Wow, impressive. Great to hear.

More than One

Contrary to what you said, there are more than one appropriate responses. In addition to the tantrum-based response above, one could:
1. Follow Apple's instructions. Wait 5 weeks and get your working iPad 2;
2. Take your malfunctioning iPad 2 into an Apple store, if they give you a replacement, great. If not, go to response 1, above;
3. Send the defective iPad back, get a refund, donate the money to a charity that works with earless, orphaned kittens;
4. Send the defective iPad back, get a refund, save the money for your eventual retirement so that you won't have to live out your golden years in a back alley, huddled next to a trashcan fire.

Also, I'm not sure why you referred to protesting the charge on your credit card. It's inconceivable that Apple wouldn't refund or replace a non-working or otherwise defective product.

Why was I able tO get my replacement overnight shipped to me for a simple burnt pixel but you have to wait a month for this?? I smell bs
