How does it compare to the iPad 1?

Ok - new iPad 754 g (1lb 10 oz). iPad 1 740 g (1lb 14 oz.) - both with soft shell backs. I do have the Apple smart cover, so that adds weight, bringing the new iPad up to the same weight as the original.

The screen is nice, but that was not my motivating factor to buying. My wife has the iPad 2, and I have found it considerably faster than the original iPad. Also I do alot of photos, the new iPhoto app does not work on the original.

The Marware CEO Hybrid or Otterbox Reflex don't fit it. It's a stretch for Apple to claim that all cases fit.

I have the Marware CEO Hybrid and really liked it a lot. I'm pretty disappointed that the iPad is just a hair too thick.

Thinner, same weight, faster, sleeker, beautiful screen. I'm completely satisfied.

I like the weight. It makes me feel like I got something for my money. I think that the iPad 2 was too light.
