It says nothing about the sides as you mentioned. Could you clarify? Also, do you see any link or mention of a full-body set for the new aluminum MacBooks and MacBook Pros?
The description did not mention the sides, but the product I received last week did include it. I order the one for the new aluminum MacBooks.

OP, could you link me the iskin item?? thank you. :D
I use the one for Macbook air, fits perfectly.

I wasn't aware they were in the market there) and all others have a Samsung (apple branded) SSD?

Yes, they are available, and there're already a few threads about that.

Also, dude seriously ... you cannot be so sensitive. If people want to leave negative comments in a thread you started there is nothing you or the excessive use of VB code can do about it.

It's not about my feelings. My intention was to prevent you guys from turning it into a pointless argument of whether or not you like what I posted (haven't we had enough of that lately with the slanted keys and screen quality).

I was hoping people would post nice pictures of what they have, instead of just trashing others. Can we still make it happen? How about photos of your wish list items?

Okay, this may be overkill, but here's what I decided:

I ordered the Invisible Shield (with side protection) for my MacBook Pro and will apply right out of box before it gets used or I remove Apple's plastic film. As far as the part the Invisible Shield does not cover, the keyboard, I will order the clear/frost iSkin, as long as they guarantee a free replacement should it behave like the one for my 12" iBook G4 does. It would fit snugly on one side of the keyboard or the other, but not both at the same time without puckering up in the middle and being likely to slide out of place.

I liked, and ordered, the Booq Vyper M3 (black) which will ship starting Nov. 30. The interior dimensions are the exact same as the MacBook Pro, and I believe a "sleeve" should not be bulky, oversized or have extra compartments or external pockets. I received both an APC bag and sleeve (free after rebates) with my order, but the supposed "sleeve" is not custom and is too big. It has it's own external sections, pockets, etc. so I will use it more as a light case for quick transport, and the full bag for traveling and trips away. The Vyper M3 will slip nicely into either. I thought about the snap-on hardshell cases too. The one from Speck is out for the new MacBook Pros, but Incase won't have theirs until January, so I'll decide then.

Finally, I can also fit something I swear by into the bigger travel APC bag along with my MacBook Pro. It is the fully adjustable (height and angle) Laptop Laidback. I can lie in bed and type without the laptop touching me at all, so I can move easily, avoid heat, and type at a perfect ergonomic (and very comfortable) position propped up against pillows (I like this when watching TV at night). For anyone interested check out these two links with photos:

http://www.macopinion.com/index.php...laidback_3_stand_for_reclined_computing_re_e/

I have the original, solid maple one but ordered the new version 3 because it is lighter, black and I can no longer disassemble my current one for traveling due to a fix I made.

Hope this give anyone else some ideas. ;)

This is pretty similar to the Incase shell and doesn't interfere with tilting screen all the way back ...and it is available now for the new aluminum MacBooks!

I'm not sure about the new design, but the speck hard case I had for my first MBP scratched it up. I tried to take it off to clean under it, as dust and junk accumulates, and it was so difficult to get the top off, I had to bring it into the apple store. I didn't want to bend the screen with my yanking.

The genius spent 10 minutes trying to pry it off before telling me she was going to take it in the back and get some help. I was imagining them scratching up my baby even more. She came out 10 minutes later, cheeks red from exertion, and told me it took 2 of them to get it off. She also said it would be best not to put it back on.

Worst $50 I ever spent on a mac accessory.

this is what my BMF apple has:

24carat gold lid
platinum unibody
diamond encrusted apple logo
prada keys
mercedes disc drive
4" red stilletos
and a nice louis vitton bag to put it all in

Oh, aren't you hilarious. If you don't like the thread, don't post in it. It's not that difficult.

Here's mine:

- I ordered an icolors.ca gel to change the color of my apple logo
- foofbag purple people eater sleeve
- lime/black incase neoprene sleeve
- bestskinsever
- iskin protouch eclipse black

I don't like what you posted.
At all.
And I'll argue to doomsday about it simply for S & G's

How about photos of your wish list items?

This has been on my wishlist for a while now....

wow you went to all that trouble just to find a picture of a small female brain and to insinuate that I wish I had a brain just to prove a point that you can't just simply not read what i post? I feel so flattered.

Anyone using an expresscard slot card reader? I was thinking about picking one up. I found one on newegg that got good reviews.

Is anyone using that slot for anything at all?

have a reader by SIIG. Got it at frys because I heard of problems with the other main one. its a 12 in one, just wanted it for my Memory stick and SD cards. Works great.

OWC (macsales) has a remote that stays inside of the slot. Sounds cool, but I have never really used the remote so it sounds like a novelty item.

Cool. Does it read SDHC cards? I've read about some that don't. It's in stock at my Microcenter, so I might skip the ordering online if so.

no fruit

I put some shiny silver ductape completely over the apple on the back of the screen. Gives the machine a more manly look.

Thanks for sharing, DMS.
I only wanted to encourage my positive postings, no offense.

Maybe it's because I'm a guy, but I just don't like adding bright colors to my laptop. It makes it look cheap in my opinion. Remember the original clamshell iBook G3s? Black, white or metal are good for me.

Don't mean to criticize your thread OP, it's great. Just sharing my accessories experience here. :)

I remember the days when I bought every imaginable accessory to protect my macbook and macbook pro. Wasted so much $$$ on that stuff

moshi palmguard: matches the alumnium perfectly but it's abit thick and macbook/pro doesn't close as well.

iskin keyboard protector: Definitely a must for those with butter fingers when drinking coffee near their mac. However, it's a pain to remove it and stuff it somewhere where it'll invariably pick up dirt before closing your mac. If you keep it there, it'll just leave marks on the screen. That's why I found it inconvenient.

Invisibleshield: expensive, and I had such a hard time applying it. It definitely ruins the look. I saw a guy whose MBA was all wrapped up and shiny and he was trying to look all cool at starbucks, but it just looked bad.

I would however recommend it for the bottom of your macbook though as that's a spot which is prone to scratches. The good thing is that if its on the bottom you won't see it and won't ruin the lovely look of anodized aluminium.

Essential Items

The one essential item all mac portable owners should own though is a good quality protective sleeve. My personal choice is for the waterfield sleeve case.

Another good one is trackpad film from power support usa. It actually makes the trackpad smoother and prevents those ugly use marks in the long run.

I've got a 2.4 and just got my Mobile Edge Slip Suit in Black on Friday as well as my BodyGuardz skin, but have yet to put the skin on. The SlipSuit is nice because it has a pouch for AC adapter, CDs, mouse, etc. Not very big, just a few things. Need to put the skin on. I had a skin like that for my white wireless keyboard (previous generation Apple keyboard) but not sure I would want that on my MacBook. The feel is nice, but I like the keyboard the way it is.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also have a couple of thoughts.

I started using the iskin cover on a white MB. I, too, thought the cover made it worse in leaving marks on the screen, until one day I noticed someone else's macbook with keyboard marks all over the screen but without any keyboard cover. So I know I'm gonna have to wipe the keys/screen regularly one way or the other.

As for the IS film, I hesitated putting it on my aluminum MB for a couple of days because of the 'nerd-factor'. I wish I'm one of those who couldn't care less scratching their laptops (the real cool one in Starbucks with too much $ to care). But I'm not that cool (let's face it, I'm hanging around a laptop forum on a Sunday afternoon). Since I move my MB around a lot at home (kitchen counter, table, den, couch, bed), a sleeve just won't do.

x2.

I think it is ugly, and everyone is entitled to an opinion. If you don't like it then you shouldn't have posted.
