The 8 and 8 Plus are both listed in a couple of variants, but there is no mention of the X.

Apple probably didn't have it submitted for approval to maintain its secrecy before launch.

    Steve-Would-Not-Have-Allowed-This-Gate.

But, seriously, yes, some oversight/bureaucracy. Every tear down of the phones have had the same wireless charging coil in them. And conveniently missing from the screen shot is that the iPhone 8 family was entered into the WPC database 1-1.5 weeks after release of the 8 phones (depending on model).

I’m not sure what you’re suggesting here. I took the screenshot but I haven’t deliberately emitted something?

Screen is only so big you know, I did post the link as well (and first!)

I hope all those iPhone X users who've been charging on the Mophie and Belkin Qi pads are going to return all the energy that they illegitimately received. Or does this mean that they never actually charged their batteries, and all the emails and texts and calls they thought they'd sent or made never really happened? This could be more like TwilightZone-Gate.

    This:

You posted that the X is not Qi certified. If Apple is up to something, we should figure it out. By the way, I think I know what happened. All that pseudo-inductive energy went to Ireland, to be stored with all the revenue that Apple's been sheltering from various tax authorities.

Works with my Qi charger. So there's that at least.

I think you may need to do some research on Qi Certification.

You do know non certified products will still charge? Think of it like you would a non-MFI lightning cable.

I’m not saying that the X isn’t capable of receiving Qi charge, nor that it isn’t worthy of proper cerification. All I’m saying is it’s not on the website.

Apple directs people to this exact website to show which third party Qi chargers are “safe” but not all of their own products are featured there.

Thank you, that's right exactly. I guess compared to criminal conspiracies involving poorly performing modems and deliberate use of cheap, slow RAM chips and other controversies, I am having trouble getting excited about what is nearly certainly an administrative delay. :) Apologies to the OP, though.

Things like locked down 7.5w charging and the fact that the iPhone X doesn’t work with my google nexus charger may very well mean that Apple is the one that isn’t standards compliant.

I actually think the AirPower will do really well, the downside to the Airpower will be the price point. It's likely going to be probably priced somewhere around $130-$180. And for one to really take full of advantage of the AirPower, one would have to have a Series 3 Apple Watch, iPhone X of course and the new wirelessly charging battery case for the AirPods.

It’s going to cost a lot due to charging both the air pods and Apple Watch but for me I will buy it as it means not needing another cable for my Apple Watch

And air pods I can put on charge each day without ever worrying about battery life..I won’t even need to put them on every night but least the option is there

Well I have a question. What does this have to do with the price of tea in China? If you look at the specs for both the 8 and the X they never claim the devices are Qi certified they only claim the devices will work with Qi certified chargers. A grey area yes but hardly conspiracy theory worthy.

I really wasn't trying to start some kind of conspiracy theory.

All I said was that it's not on the website. That's a fact.

As long it works, who cares if it's on the WPC website or not.
