Works much more reliably than your phone or iPad directly through wifi. I got tired of the error and did this and got both my iPhone 5 and iPad done quickly.

Assuming iTunes will actually let you download the update, mine keeps crapping out on me before the download finishes, or won't even let me start it :p

Help

I updated to iOS 7 through computer and restored through the computer, but at the activation screen it says ''could not activate iPhone'' try again. I have the chord plugged in my computer, its says iPhone on the sidebar but loads and said it cant connect to the iTunes store. I unplugged it from my computer and open the iTunes store and it loads fine? Help?

Yes, iTunes had some crap-outs too. But only a few. None when I was doing my iPhone. When I tried to do the "Download & Update" on my iPad, it crapped out a couple of times. Then I tried to just download the update separately and it worked.

Their servers are definitely getting hammered, no matter how much planning and preparation they did for this.

i cant believe this....100 thousands of ppl having unusable apple stuff now.

fix your **** apple!

This happens every year on launch day of the new iOS. I was caught out two years ago, ever since I've gone with the policy of waiting a day or two before actually trying to update. One more day won't make any real difference to me.

I wish i had knew this before, otherwise i would have never attemped this today. I'm stuck on the activation screen now for 4 hours and can do nothing about it.

How is this not blowing up the front page of every tech website?

Anybody getting through over cellular? Or just via WiFi??? I've been trying over cellular for over 4 hours constantly. (I dont have access to wifi here at work)

I'm going back to the GM for now. I'll try again in a few days.

This is pathetic, Apple.
