The bugs in my activity app continue to grow. So I need to average 44 exercise minutes a day for my challenge. Sweet, no big deal. Well, I just finished day 3. My combined days are 122 minutes, or 41 average (roughly). Well, my activity app is telling me I am only averaging 24. I thought that was odd so I decided to do some math. The activity app is thinking Feb. has 30 days and today is 2/5, not 2/3.

122/3 is roughly 40.66 minutes.
122/5 is roughly 24.4 minutes.

So essentially I need to average 48 minutes a day to make up for the discrepancy. Again, no big deal, but it just adds to the activity issues I am already expericing. This is happening on two different devices. Any one else with average minutes/calories experiencing this discrepancy?

Mine is totally bugged as well but it's because it's looking at last month for the data. On Feb 1 it thought I had already done 18 hours of exercise and appears to consistently be off by one in terms of which month it's looking at for the current month's challenge. Are you sure yours isn't looking at your previous month for the average like my challenges do?

My Feb personal challenge still hasn’t showed up. I’ve restarted my watch, phone a few times.

I’ve had a Watch since the beginning and this January was the first month that I closed all my rings and did my personal month challenge.

It sounds silly, but I want to stay motivated. Kind of disappointing that it’s so buggy.

Yeah I’m sure. There is no way I averaged 24 minutes a day last month. I completed my rings all 31 days. It definitely thinks Feb has 30 days.

Once it’s past midnight, it’ll divide by an extra day so it would probably have been dividing by 4. I realise that still doesn’t make it right!

From that point of view the total number of minutes in a month version is much easier to keep track of than the average per day.

My numbers are from before midnight. I’ve verified this on two devices with the same challenge. It seems to be a glitch with the amount of days in Feb. I’m already suffering massive activity bugs due to the month 13 bug in iOS and I think this is just a continuation.

that happened to me as well. february challenge achieved on february 1st - wohoo. I guess the watch wanted to make up for stopping to count the walking distance in the mid of my january challenge.

Ah. Well then it’s clearly screwed. These new challenges do seem to be as challenging to Apple as to watch wearers. They have the potential to be really good but so far the reality is really rubbish.

I apologize for asking about something I could look up - but: I thought that the month 13 bug had been fixed?

Nope. 11.3B1 finally fixes it. But even with the fix coming, the damage is already done on my activity app. It has ruined my achievements and health data.

It remains to be seen whether that issue is actually behind any of this, though. My understanding was that the month 13 issue was fairly benign and probably not resulting in any problems, and that although many of these activity challenge problems look like an off-by-one month error, it may not at all be related to the month 13 issue.

It's something weird going on.

Last month, I was using two iPhones, each paired with a few Apple watches. The phone with the watches that I was using daily since December 4th, got the January challenge completed on December 28th. The phone that I started using late December, got the January challenge after the required 7 days of completing the rings.

I have a whole other set of issues in activity app. I was awarded perfect month achievements (yes plural) for months I have 0 data. I received my 500 day move streak badge after only 109 days of data. My current move streak is roughly 485 days, but my badge tells me it’s 872, even though I only have 485 days worth of data.

This is happening on 5 different devices in my household. Something is broken and it happens once your move streak hits about 435 days. If you are already past that point, you are in the clear. 2 devices in my household were not affected because they were past that day.

The only explanation is month 13. Something with date tracking is messed up.

Mine has always been a one to one pairing of iPhone to Watch, so it should be an easier scenario to handle, but alas...

Interesting stuff regarding the move streak as well, as I've had mine go in and out of functioning over time, and since iOS 11 it's been showing that the move streak has ended on the current day (e.g. "624 days, ending on 5/2/18. Your current streak is 624 days.")

For what it's worth, Apple has had me upload an entire dump of my Health database as part of my radar on the activity challenges being messed up (and using incorrect units - Calories instead of kJ like the rest of my iPhone/Watch), but aside from a "thanks" response (which is itself an incredibly rare thing to receive), I've heard nothing since. I assume they're aware of all of these issues, but it does seem surprising that they haven't been able to sort it out yet. That leads me to think that either the problem is considerably more complicated than just a date math error, or they're trying to work out a way to have the fix retrospectively correct any incorrectly awarded/not awarded achievements.

The fact that the issue isn't impacting everyone, and for a substantial number of people the monthly challenges are working correctly, certainly is curious.

Coincidentally I just noticed that the Heart Month Challenge has now appeared for me... ("Close your Exercise ring seven days in a row, starting on 8 February and ending 14 February.") - let's see if this one is bugged, too.

OK, dunno what's up, but here are the symptoms.

No activity rings starting Sunday (so, two days now). But all of my workouts and activity are recorded. The rings don't reflect anything.

But...

I have partial rings for Thursday and Friday of this week (but no activity or workouts, obviously).

Bug? Something else? Restarted the phone and watch, no change.

Well that’s new. Haven’t heard of that before. This app is so messed up. At first it was like a sick joke, now it’s just frustrating. Especially for those that actually do what it takes to complete the rings daily, like myself.

My February challenge was to burn 1,387 calories a day. On February 4th it awarded me a badge saying I had averaged 1,431. I am not sure when the watch started "missing", but there are days I do not get my little firework explosion when I complete my move goal or my close my rings. Overall the watch has performed much better since 4.0, but these little gotchas are irritating because they make you wonder what else might be off.

My bad. I didn't give things time to sync. Restarting the watch solved the problem. I'm guessing that what caused this was messing around with the date to get a look at the February Valentine's Day challenge.

Ah, yes, that's certainly what would have done it - changing your system date can have all kinds of weird and unintended consequences with sync states across lots of different apps and core systems, especially those that sync with a server. It can sometimes even result in data loss when a sync system gets confused about what device has the latest version of something, so be careful :)

I have seen some weirdness in activity too.

Also, my watch just seems to be a lot slower since upgrading to WatchOS 4. It is now taking almost double the time it previously took for me to start a workout.

Series 2 Nike Watch.

I just got my first watch a couple days after Christmas and have yet to see a personal challenge. I just get the gold one for moving every day of the month. I work my butt off to get those rings closed every day, so I'm a little disappointed to be honest. Someone I live with got their watch around the same time I did and they've been getting the personal challenges (and don't care). It's quite annoying.

Just as an example of how bugged the activity app is in general, as soon as midnight arrived, my watch gave me all the 7 day awards for completing all the rings PLUS, doubling my move goal by 200% which is impossible since it was just after midnight. My screen cap doesn't show the 200% award because I didn't scroll to the right to make it visible.

[doublepost=1525159259][/doublepost]Hi, my activity app is also logging last month’s data, is there a solution to this?
