Aaaanddd this is why I bought a refurbished series 2. I would have bought a non-cellular series 3 but they don't sell those in stainless steel. I don't understand the practicality of LTE built-in, especially not when considering the $120+ fee per year and the shortened battery life. Plus a stupid red dot.

The Apple Watch seems like it has been trying to corner the fitness watch market, aside from just the “smart watch” market. I am a runner and come daylight savings time, I am running alone in the dark 5 nights a week. It’s not practical to take my iPhone 7+ on runs. I also don’t bog myself down with armbands or belts. This was a no brainer for me. I have a lifeline now, and if I want to listen to music I don’t need an iPod. I have several friends who recently upgraded for similar sport-related reasons.

My AW was added to my VZW account late in the cycle (~7 days left). My bill does state "3 months free". Who wants to put money down on VZW giving me only 2 more billing cycles free, for a total of ~2.2 months free, instead of 3 calendar months?

T-Mobile bundles the taxes into their price, so the companies can control what price they pass to the end user.

Huh okay, so it was a limited time promo, the watch also has voice does that still work with what you were talking about?

We’re actually saying the same thing. T-Mobile is cutting their price to make up for taxes. But they don’t can’t help how much tax they have to collect. They simply have to charge a different price in every state to make it come out to an even number.

For me, it’s $10 a month to have a lifeline when I’m running outside, alone, and from November to March, in the dark. My choice of directions are left into a small city with one of the highest homicide rates in the state, or right into a sparsely populated area with woods on both sides of the road, no businesses I could run to, and bears. Worth it to me.
You can dial 911 without the data plan activated. I tried and the call went through. I too run with only the watch and it’s nice to know that if there’s an emergency I can call for help.

I just don’t think the monthly cost is worth the few moments that I don’t have the iPhone with me.

AT&T forgot to apply the promo on my bill. I ended up paying $44 more for Sept 22 - Oct 31, so there is a partial bill for Sept. I have to call them up to add the promo credit. Also the tax and fee seems to be higher than normal. I don't know what's up with that either. I think I am going to stop the service after the 3 month free expires.
I just chatted with AT&T last evening. I had spent two hours at their store two weeks ago. After adding the wearable plan and assigning the watch a phone number, they could not get the cellular service working on the watch. None the less my bill went from $94.00 to $138. I told them it never connected to cellular. They reversed the charges.

Glad I have T-Mobile every time I read things like this. Just got my bill and the three months free trial is actually free. My bill is as expected. No charge for Apple Watch.

I'm with you. I pay $60month for two lines (55+ plan). Two Apple Watches have upped it to $80/month. Well, not really, since I am still on the 3 months free. No setup charges. No BS about rebates after 3 months.

The reception is ok, but yes it is nice they don't have so many hidden fees like others.

I've had good luck with T-Mobile reception in Atlanta. I switched from AT&T and was surprised to find I had reception on MARTA even when deep under ground.

I received a text from ATT yesterday thanking me for activating my Series 3 and stating I would receive a $60 credit in 90 days, though it didn't specify why.
