Hello,

whenever I go to the forum on my iPhone I get a spam ad popup that I can't close.
The code for this popup most be on your site or in one of the ads.

Can you please check and stop? Otherwise I can't read the forum anymore.

Michael

Yeah, somehow a bad advertiser is getting into the system and deploying redirects in their ads. Unfortunately it's proven difficult to track them down. We've blocked individual ones, but they come back under other names.

It's very hard for us to track these without being in Germany, so if you're able, it would be extremely helpful if you (or anyone else seeing these bad ads) could pass along some info that will allow us to identify them.

- Install the application httpwatch on your phone: https://itunes.apple.com/app/id658886056
- Open the application and enter the site address (forums.macrumors.com) where it says "enter web address."
- Click around the site until you encounter the bad ad.
- At that point, click on the top right menu and select "email." Click Next (you don’t need to change the file name or the format). Enter fhutter@purch.com as the email address, and add a couple of explanatory notes (as to site and problem) and hit send.
Sorry for the inconvenience and the request for help. We're aware this is a significant issue and doing our best to prevent it.

Thanks so much. Hopefully that's enough to allow our ad folks to find and block it.

I am getting these in the uk over the last few days. Makes me not want to use the forum sadly after over 10 years..

Think: AdBlock Plus

Alternatively, think: uBlock Origin

I’m in the UK and for the past few days have had Porcelanosa ads repeatedly popping up. Installed Purify yesterday, which seems to have resolved the problem.

Really annoying, take up the whole screen.
