Add Applications Folder to Dock?

Reverse problem

I have a reversed problem. Today I set up my brand new MacBook Pro, and did a migration from the old Mac-mini. The Application folder from the Dock is gone! I cannot put it back. Any suggestion?

Folders (which become Stacks when in the Dock) can only "stick" in the Dock when you drag them to the right (or below if Dock is on the side) of the dashed "dividing line". (see the gap?) Try that.
 
apps folder in the dock

I feel very embarrassed coming in with something that i am sure has been dealt with before. I am a long time user and I have 24in iMac running 10.6.8
I am at my daughters house and her MB has 10.5.8. I am trying to put the apps folder in the dock but it simply won't go and for the life of me i cannot reason why.

Drag it from Finder to the right side of the Dock. You can't drag items to the left side. The sides are separated by the dotted line.

Have managed to restore my icons, etc.

no apps showing in applications folder

The application folder is on my dock but i'm only seeing the first FOLDER thats in my aplications folder. i tried switching the views and everything!

If you click "Show in Finder" what do you see? I'm guessing that's the Applications folder in your user folder, created by CrossOver. You need to put the Applications folder that's at the root of your hard drive there instead. The same one that's shown in the sidebar in the Finder.

Add Apps to dock Mac OSX Via Terminal and ARD!!!

This will add iSync.app ( Or any app - just change path to what you want ) to the dock, Make sure to run as current console user in ARD and that users are logged in


defaults write com.apple.dock persistent-apps -array-add "<dict><key>tile-data</key><dict><key>file-data</key><dict><key>_CFURLString</key><string>/Applications/iSync.app/</string><key>_CFURLStringType</key><integer>0</integer></dict></dict></dict>";


to refresh dock:

killall -HUP Dock (run as root in ARD)
 
Add folder to dock

i created a new folder for my pics but i want to place that folder on the dock for easy access, however each time i do that the folder's icon turns into my pic collection. so how do you add a new folder onto the dock?

Right-click on the Dock icon and select Display as: Folder.
