I just bought a PC today - a fast Pentium 4 - that I assigned to run Folding@Home when I'm not using it, like my iMac does. My score's going to be increasing faster now.

Just added my PIII and my Cube (though I'm going to have to keep an eye on the Cube's temperature). Maybe I'll actually finish a WU within a couple of weeks. :D

I was getting the issue where Folding@Home was only using 50% of my CPU when I expected it to use 100%. Going into the BIOS and disabling Hyper-threading fixed the problem.

It's been said that by running two instances of fah on a HT machine, you'll gain 20-33% in your points production from that machine.

Just thought I'd let you know.

Thanks to all of you for helping.

Please remember to watch heat-sensitive machines, so you don't end up with a problem.

It refuses to run two instances of Folding@Home. When I try to start another, it says it can't run and quits. Do I need to download a different client from the website (I've got the graphical client running)?

Check it out Here.

That is awesome Vlade, that should be a great help to the team. Will you have access to the G5 sometimes to take it for a spin? Will your Dad let you run it 24/7?

My dads old iMac runs 24/7 most of the time, so this one should be the same, he is always downloading stuff of Carracho or KDX, I would try to get him to stop but I can't pass up over 1000 points per week :). I will have access to the G5 this summer, I can't wait to test that thing out! It will probably convince me to buy a G5 instead of a powerbook :(.

i fold under team Tiauguinho.

bousozoku, u have one hell of a memory ;)

Yes, and now, if I could just remember where I put it. :D

By the way, thanks for adding more machines.

Hmmm... I started my P4 2.4 on folding last Monday when I got it and it's done about 22 WU's so far. Dunno if that's good or bad but I suppose it's doing the best it can...

I tried installing F@H on my machine here at work. I downloaded the Windows binary and double clicked it to install it and it just quits. I can't even get the thing installed. Dunno if they've done something to my computer so I can't install it. It's a Win 2k machine. Oh well. My iBook doesn't fold. It's too busy sleeping (plus I hate running the fan on it all the time).

Hum... it seams my dual 2.0 GHZ G5 went off because my points have dropped tremendously, as well as 3 school eMacs... I went from 2000 a week down to less than 1K (probably even less!), at least I have a dual 1.8 coming in soon to install folding on!

i thought Tiauguinho was a user folding fort Macrumors team.

so is it a group of folders, a sub-team of sorts?
AND you just added 25 machines?
wow! that's going to make a huge contribution!

It was originally one user in Portugal with a couple of machines. Then, sometime last year, a few of them got together as a sub-team.

Even though, every contribution counts--not just the large ones.

Just we love the bigger contributions more then the smaller ones ;)
