“The problem with ‘em is really sort of in the bottom forty there.” - Steve Jobs

I can’t say for sure because I don’t have experience with it. I can only speculate but wouldn’t that be top heavy?
Read the article. There is a counter weight to provide balance. Clicks costs more and does not offer that, so this is potentially an improvement on the existing product offerings

I liked Clicks, but I think it makes the phone too tall. While there's a lot of engineering challenges around it, I think a slide-out landscape version would be super neat.

They're actually a real keyboard brand out of china, since 2016 apparently. Meaning they have a longer track record making keyboards than the Clicks guys!
They are a real crap keyboard manufacturer! Read their keyboard reviews on reddit and you will run for the hills.

Yea for our app we implemented a Whisper model trained on medical terms, its not perfect but its mountains better then the built in dictation to the extent that most of our medical clients are now using the dictation full time.

We have dictation apps too, but the only way to make them work on iOS, or iPadOS is to use the app, then copy and paste into Teams or into Outlook.

Most only use it on their computer, with Windows and Cerner.

I'm sure there are at least 6-7 people waiting to buy something like this. What a useless waste of time and energy to design and manufacture something like this.
Your name checks out. I’m glad you’re thinking of the, at least 6-7 people, who have something like diabetic neuropathy where touching something flat like a screen is difficult for them and actually need tactile sensations to be productive.

Can't say I'm surprised - lots of kb manufacturers are less than good. I never really looked into them due to being more of a low-profile kb guy.

Not diabetic neuropathy, but my father has extremely calloused fingers, and iPhone/iPad don't reliably respond to touch..same with trackpads....not that he would ever use this gadget. He uses a keyboard/mouse and a flip phone.

The touch screen is his F250 is resistive and that works.

This thing looks like it would be so wildly off-balance that people’s phones will end up face planting and cracking on the ground on the first usage.

Forget this toy, why will no one give us a simple folio style case with a Psion 5 keyboard on one side? No one has come close to that thing in nearly 30 years.

Im going to make a case that adds the Home Button back to the iPhone.

The visceral responses to this accessory are ridiculous. You guys act like its permanently fused to the phone. I could totally see a use-case scenario for someone having one (like those mentioned above in the medical field where they have to have precise typed notes) and keeping it in their bag/satchel and only deploying it when necessary.

I'm off to the Ipad accessory forum now to go make fun of the folio cases and let them know just how stupid and un-apple they are for buying them according to the court of public opinion.

While it might not fit everyone's needs, I'd buy one in a minute if they made one that fit my phone. There are certain times at work when I have to use the phone to reply to emails & Teams messages extensively. It's not super frequent, but during those times, having a physical keyboard would be amazing. And then for the other 95% of the time when I don't need it, I could just remove the cover.

Just use voice to text.

That looks like a pain in the ass to type on, far quicker to use the on-screen keyboard or use dictation, which actually works pretty well.
That's what I can't understand. If you have a lot to type on your iPhone, just dictate it. I do that frequently and it works just fine, no keyboard required.
