In case there was some continuing doubt, iMore reports that all the circulating iPhone part leaks are accurate and will be what the new iPhone will look like on September 12th:
iMore has learned that recent parts leaks and dummy phones are accurate representations of what the new iPhone (iPhone 5,1) will look like when Apple announces it on September 12, 2012. Almost identical in design to the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S, the major visible differences will include a 4-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, a metallic plate across most the back, and a miniaturized Dock connector and relocated 3.5mm headset jack along the bottom.
iMore cites "reliable" sources for the confirmation. The confirmation is notable in that iMore was the first to report on the September 12th announcement date for the new iPhone. That media event date was confirmed by Apple today.

You guys have a bug in the "confirmed" link at the bottom of the post.

EDIT:

Wow, that was a quick fix.

Did anyone notice how the shadow of the 12 appears to form a "5" in the iPhone announcement graphic? Seems to suggest that the phone is using a modified A5 or an A5X processor instead of the A6.

I don't see why people are saying it's almost identical to the 4/4S, to me it looks almost nothing like them!

Well apart from front on (looking at the screen). But then it comes back to 'it's just a black rectangle so how could they make it look different' argument.

What should it look like, a PSP?

No, thanks for pointing that out. We totally missed that.

The keynote:
"Well, ladies and gentlemen, as you all know we will be revealing the new iPhone. If you want to know how it looks like, go look at all the blogs. That is all." *applause*

Just wish NFC wasn't crossed out :(

It may not be crossed out at all..

Apple has patents that allow them to use NFC within metal, and inside an LCD screen. One or both of these patents could be implemented inside the new iPhone 5.

Putting the many subtle clues together (I have a massive bulletin board with colored yarn and polaroids) I am thinking that the new iPhone may possibly have the same width as the current models, yet be taller and thinner.

This is all apple needs to do for the 9/12 event:

It goes on sale today. Delivered to you 9/21/2012.

close shop. Bye guys.

And yet I still have friends that are sure that all of these leaked parts are part of a misdirection operation by Apple and that the "true" iPhone 5 will be revealed on the 12th.

While I know that's not the case, I wish it were true. This new iPhone is heinous! :(

Im surprised the video of Johnathan talking about how amazing the new iPhone looks hasn't leaked yet. That's about the only new thing we'll see at the keynote.

NFC appears to be a security nightmare waiting to happen.

How so? It's old tech in many other first world countries, especially Japan. Master Card and Visa have stated they have been working with mobile device companies on NFC pay-systems for a while. It seems talks stalled when Apple demanded a large percentage of the pie (typical).

This will probably be the first iPhone I will not get since every incarnation. As I travel quite a bit, NFC is important overseas. The fact America doesn't have it is sad.

Glass or Plastic windows!?!?!

How come nobody knows for sure? Late change? All leaks are fakes (er, mockups??) based on "good" information. So we know nothing at all, really?

I only hope this is wrong, because another iPhone 4, no matter how stretched, isn't going to cut it, this year. I'd like iMore to have a good streak, but please don't be right.

The only thing I don't have now is Siri. I do a lot of driving and would love to be able to speak Messages, but we all know how that works when you really need it.

Money might be staying in my pocket again this year. Waiting for iPhone 6. Sigh.

Bummer

I'll surely be buying the new iPhone, enhanced internals and all that aside but, frankly, it is disheartening to find more and more confirmation that we are stuck for another whole year with a design dating two generations now. Visions of Blackberry burnout. That would be the worst possible outcome for fans of the iPhone.
